Kevin and Bean on LA's KROQ

Recap of J.J. interview

Summarized by Tammy. Thanks! :)

"He talked about how the post-Superbowl episode was originally supposed to be the airing of the Ethan Hawke episode. But I think it was the week before the Superbowl, they had decided to have the "A Free Agent" episode air. JJ said that it was really last-minute decision making because he said they were still sending screenshots the Friday prior to the game.During the interview, Kevin & Bean asked him about the abruptness of the episode in which SD-cells were taken down all over. JJ answered by stating simply that we must keep in mind that it was only taken down because there was a discrepency inside the organization. In other words, Sloane was a key player in taking it down. He went on to state that the episode was created solely on the fact that it removed so many obstacles for both the cast and writers. With this episode, he said that everyone would finally be getting to write all the storylines that they had been wanting to do for the last year. The Syd/Vaughn relationship would be able to move past the "longing glances" stage. They were able to develop the fact that Syd was no longer a double agent who could be free to develop the relationship. As for Sloane and Sark, he stated that keep in mind the last two minutes of the episode. Sloane is know a leader of an organization. This new organization will force him to forge alliances everywhere, some of which JJ leaked would be "familiar" to viewers. Kevin & Bean were thinking Irina Derevko, but JJ wouldn't spill. But take it as you will.As for the "evil" Francie, JJ just said keep your eyes open. He said that the whole reason for the episode was a way to end a chapter in the story. He said he could now start fresh and be able to pull viewers who had previously found the storyline too complex to follow. He stated that the show would NOT lose its complexity, but that it would simply be easier to understand for those who haven't watched from the beginning. He said that there are so many things to look out for this season and the show will be able to explore more storylines w/o the hindrance of Syd's double-agent life.Oh, and not to forget. JJ mentioned that all the revealing scenes that Jennifer is asked to do is entirely up to her. He said she is willing to do all her own stunts and also that she thinks it's amusing that she always wears these skimpy outfits. He says she laughs when she reads the scripts and finds out she has another "sexy" scene. That's all I can remember right now, but if you have any questions, feel free to ask me! I hope this is some semblance of help for you. If you want clarification for spoilers, email me back and I'll respond ASAP. ~Tammy"
