In the Kitchen With Martha & Jennifer!
Jennifer told Martha that she knows how to truss a human but not a turkey!
"Alias" star JENNIFER GARNER is such a big fan of MARTHA STEWART that she named her dog after the domestic diva. So when she was offered the opportunity to join Martha in the kitchen to help prepare a Thanksgiving recipe, she jumped at the chance to talk turkey with the expert.
Back in 2001, the new star told ET, "I love Martha Stewart. I have her on my TiVo. I just like watching her cook. It's just very soothing. It reminds me of my mom."
And Jennifer, who revealed she has an herb garden in her West Los Angeles home, is quite the cook, too. "When we were doing the pilot, it was so important for me to eat my own food, so I would cook all of my meals for the week on Sunday. I just have a big cook-a-thon and make all of these healthy things, such as soup, chicken breast, a bunch of salads, maybe some vegetable lasagnas, whatever. I would make myself my little lunches and my little meals everyday."
Jen's skills in the kitchen became obvious as she chopped nuts for the Cranberry-Cornbread Stuffing that she and Martha were making. So much so that Martha commented that Jennifer was "more of a sous chef than a rank beginner."
Then it was time for Martha's Turkey 101 quiz. She queried the action star on such questions as: What is a giblet? Where is the wishbone? And what is the waddle? Jennifer passed with flying colors. For the answers, tune in on Tuesday, Nov. 18, when the episode of "Someone's In the Kitchen With Martha" airs in syndication.
Another plus of the episode was when Martha revealed her secret spice for a successful stuffing. For the exact ingredients of the recipes demonstrated by the two, click here!
Before they were done, Jennifer had a slight accident with spilled ingredients, but Martha reassured her she didn't have to worry. And Jen teased, "I wouldn't have to worry [at home either] because Martha [meaning her dog] would be right there!"
