Doing Two Shows Is Twice As Nice
Typed by Kristin. Thanks to Alias-Media.com.
Merrin Dungey tells This Just In that she's "living the actor's dream" with her recurring roles on both ABC's "Alias" - as Alison, Sydney Bristow's former friend turned No. 1 nemesis - and CBS's "The King of Queens" as Kelly, sassy mother of two. Boasts Dungey, "I get to tape in front of a live audience every week on 'The King of Queens,' and I get to be bad and kick butt and jump down elevator shafts on 'Alias.' I guess you could say I'm well-rounded" Originally a series regular on "Alias," Dungey's role has been reduced to that of a recurring character since the revelation that she's the enemy. "As soon as I learned that I was going to get to fight, I began training with Benny (The Jet) Urquidez three times a week, two hours a day, in Hollywood, doing kickboxing and martial arts." What is the downside of being on two series at once? "Traveling from set to set is the only hard part because they shoot across town from one another. Everything else is just a picnic.""
