Tuesday Peach Buzz: Never can say goodbye to Bard

by Richard Eldredge

"Alias" actress Jennifer Garner took time out from butt-kicking bad guys on the ABC spy series to return to her roots over the weekend. Garner, a 1994 acting intern at the Georgia Shakespeare Festival, turned up to greet old friends, dine and take in a performance of "Much Ado About Nothing" Saturday night.

During the summer of 1994, Garner, like the other interns, lugged tent equipment and helped to assemble the contraptions. That summer, she also trod the boards in productions of "A Midsummer Night's Dream" and "The Merchant of Venice."

On Saturday night, this year's interns strode to her table to perform, some not knowing who she was until they got up close and personal. After the show, she took time to talk to the interns and the current cast and to pose for pictures.

"Everybody loved her," the festival's Stacey Colosa Lucas told Buzz Monday. Gazing at the facility's new performing arts building, Garner told the interns, "You guys have it easy now!" The actress also has made a donation to the internship program.
