SPOILERS!
The recently aired double-episode return of Alias (episodes #10, S.O.S., and #11, Maternal Instinct) confirmed what observant fans had suspected: Vaughn was indeed alive, albeit, still in a somewhat bad way and still gradually recovering from his extremely serious injuries. JACK
I'll take care of it.
And off Sydney, her father and the new baby:
SMASH TO BLACK. THE WORD "LHASA" APPEARS. WE PUSH THROUGH THE "H" TO...
EXT. TIBET -- DAY
A grand, glorious WIDE SHOT of the Nepalese Mountains. In the distance we see a lone RIDER on a WHITE HORSE at full gallop.
CLOSER -- THE RIDER: As he pushes his horse to go faster.
EXT. YURT -- LHASA -- TIBET -- DAY
A YURT, alone, in the middle of the steppes. A NEPALESE MAN stands guard holding an old, Soviet rifle.
ADJUST OFF the structure as the Horse and Rider approach. The Rider dismounts, hurries past the guard and into the Yurt.
INT. YURT -- LHASA -- TIBET -- DAY
CLOSE ON THE RIDER as he enters. And in contrast to the simple, unadorne surroundings, the interior of the structure is full of HIGH-TECH MEDICAL EQUIPMENT.
As the Rider clears frame REVEAL a MAN (framed from his chest to his knees) struggling to walk with the aid of a NURSE and some parallel bars. IVs and tubes snake out of the Man's arms. We don't see his face.
RIDER
(NEPALESE; SUBTITLED)
Sir, good news. You have a daughter.
With that, CAMERA ADJUSTS and the Man turns to face us.
REVEAL MICHAEL VAUGHN. And this is important to sell: he is in Godawful shape from taking nine rounds, but he is very much alive. As he registers the news... a SMILE spreads across his face. And off this jaw-dropping reveal and what it means for the last eight episodes of our series, we...
SMASH TO BLACK.
