Big Shots: Most Sabotaged Show
By SoapParody
I really don’t think I’ve ever seen a new show sabotaged the way ABC has sabotaged Big Shots. It became pretty obvious right from the start that this show was being treated like the unwanted step-child of the new shows this season.
After promoting it before it’s premiere, they suddenly stopped even promoting it. I watched Dancing With The Stars on Monday and Tuesday and while I saw them do promos for Ugly Betty and Grey’s Anatomy, Big Shots which airs after Grey’s Anatomy was conveniently left out of the Thursday night promo. It’s pretty sad when ABC did more to sell the atrocious Cavemen and Carpoolers.
I’ve never watched an entire episode of Grey’s Anatomy and I only sat through an episode of Grey’s off-spring, Private Practice, because I couldn’t find anything better on. I’ve tried get into another of ABC’s new darlings, Samantha Who, but it just does nothing for me. Same goes for the critics’ darling, Pushing Daisies. Watching that show once was more than enough. The only new ABC show I liked was Big Shots.
It had a really fast and snappy pace that I enjoyed. The four main actors had a great ying and ying going. A lot of networks are always trying to proclaim some new show is the new Sex and the City. Well, Big Shots was, and ABC just threw it away.
If not promoting it wasn’t bad enough, then suddenly yanked it off the schedule when the previous week they showed coming attractions for the next episode. Then they put it back on. They actually showed a promo announcing it was back. And they’re now pulling it off again to air reruns of Private Practice.
I guess I’ll go back to just watching ABC for Dancing with the Stars and otherwise give ABC a pass, like I've been doing for years. I should know better than to let myself get into a show on ABC. Maybe I'll get lucky and another network will see the potential this show has and pick it up and actually give it a fair chance to succeed.
