'Alias' Star Cast In Hospital Drama

By Eva Lam

SPOILERS!

(andPOP) - Michael Vartan has signed on to star opposite Jada Pinkett Smith in the TNT medical drama "Time Heals."

The show, slated to premiere later this year, revolves around Christina Hawthorne (Pinkett Smith), director of nursing at a North Carolina hospital.

Vartan, a familiar face to TV viewers from his role as Vaughn on the spy series "Alias," will play Tom Wakefield, the hospital's director of medicine and a possible love interest for Christina.

The role was played in the pilot by Jeffrey Nordling, who is currently appearing as FBI Agent Larry Moss on "24."

Vartan recently starred in ABC's short-lived dramedy "Big Shots." He has also appeared in such movies as "One Hour Photo" and "Monster-in-Law."
