Michael Vartan Gets a New Alias

'Big Shots' star joins TNT's new series 'Time Heals'

SPOILERS!

Michael Vartan is headed back to TV, joining Jada Pinkett-Smith in a new series from TNT.

The former "Alias" star has signed on to "Time Heals," a drama centered on the head of nursing (Pinkett-Smith) at a hospital in North Carolina. Vartan will play the hospital's director of medicine, who works closely with Pinkett-Smith's character at work and may have a personal relationship with her as well.

Vartan takes over the role from Jeffrey Nordling ("24"), who played the part in the pilot, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

TNT picked up "Time Heals," along with the undercover-cops drama "The Line" and dramedy "Men of a Certain Age," in January. All three shows are scheduled to premiere later this year.

The show brings Vartan back to television a year or so after his last series, ABC's ill-fated "Big Shots." His other credits include "One Hour Photo," "Monster-in-Law" and "Demoted," a comedy with Sean Astin and David Cross that's due for release sometime later this year.
