Sunday Territorian

November 19, 2006

First look is terrified one

Sunday Territorian front page

THE eyes have it. Hollywood heart-throb actor Michael Vartan (pictured) appears absolutely petrified.

And so the popular US movie star should be. He has literally just been plucked from the jaws of death after a violent encounter with a 7m crocodile in a scene from the movie Rogue, filmed in Kakadu National Park in the NT.

The Sunday Territorian can reveal today two of the first images from the soon-to-be released Australian-made big screen thriller.

The film, directed by Wolf Creek's Greg McLean, is a horror story that centres on the tale of a group of tourists in the Territory who are stalked by a huge man-eating crocodile.

In the spine-chilling movie, Vartan (Alias), teams up with Aussie favourites Radha Mitchell (Melinda and Melinda), John Jarratt (Wolf Creek), Stephen Curry (Thunderstruck) and Sam Worthington (Somersault) in the ``Jaws goes to Kakadu'' epic.

The giant crocodile thriller will hit cinemas early next year.

Much of the movie was filmed in the Territory's Katherine Gorge.
