Advance Screening of Rogue

By 03daelia

MAJOR SPOILERS!

yes, it is rated R. the movie is not really gory or even that violent but there is a lot of "f" words flying about.

Mia was okay. She doesn't have that many speaking lines, but she was alright with want she was given to do.

Vartan lives. There is a moment when it appears that Mitchell is dead but you discover about 10 minutes later that she is in fact not dead. she is badly injured though.

Yes, the croc dies. he gets impaled in the head.

And the body count. a few animals die and the human body count i'm pretty sure is 4. yea, that is kind of a disappointment. i might have missed one person but i'm pretty sure its 4.

first of all, there really isn't that much of a romance between mitchell and vartan. their relationship is more based on sympathy. before the crocodile comes, he helps her out with an issue. then later on when they get stranded, she feels really bad about leading them there and he tries to help her cope with that. there is no sex and i don't even remember there being any kissing. it is just kind of implied that they like each other.

second, yes, there are only 4 human deaths in the movie but there is one death that i think a lot of people in the audience will not like.

lastly, the scene in the cave summarized to not give every detail. vartan finds himself going into a big cave. there he discovers mitchell's body, still alive but really ripped apart. he hears the croc coming and hides her. he pretty much uses himself as bait to get the croc away from her. then there is pretty much the big final showdown between him and the croc.

i just like this scene because its probably the most suspenseful part in the movie. The middle section of the movie drags a little, but then you get to this big suspenseful section and you get pretty into it. well i did.

also, vartan was good. not great though. I actually liked him quite a bit still the scene in the cave. there he runs into some close encounters with the croc. that requires a lot of yelling in pain, fright, and, "over here!" (trying to leer the croc away from mitchell's character). i thought some of the yelling seemed rather silly. silly enough to maybe be considered as laughable. sorry. definitely no cary elwes in Saw though.
