The cast for Rogue starting to fill out

Posted by Clint Morris

John Jarratt, Radha Mitchell and Sam Worthington will all be screaming for Steve Irwin by the end of the Australian Summer.

The trio have signed to star in Greg 'Wolf Creek' McLean's "Rogue", about a mighty big flesh-eating croc with a penchant for tourists, which is set to Lens in the NT and Victoria this November. The movie tells of an American journalist (who we hear could Michael Vartan, of "Alias" fame - though yet to get confirmation) on assignment in the Australian outback who encounters a man-eating crocodile. Needless to say, not everyone the American writer meets walks away with their limbs in tact.

Characters in the film, set in Kakadu, including the abovementioned American travel writer, a British couple and a girl from Ireland.

Jarratt's the culprit that resulted in your pooping your bike shorts in "Wolf Creek", Mitchell's the attractive lass who shared the screen with Denzel Washington in "Man on Fire" and also fronted Woody Allen's "Melinda and Melinda", whilst Sam Worthington, whose credits include "Dirty Deeds" and "M", was recently in the running to play 007 Jimmy B. A fine cast indeed.

"This was the first script I ever wrote and it was very ambitious," McLean recently said of the horror-thriller, which is budgeted just north of $20 million. "It has been a 10-year journey trying to get this picture up so it's really like going back to a sort of dream project."

Thanks to 'Paul'
