Summary:
Sydney and Dixon travel to Oxford, England, to recover the Rambaldi artifact discovered in last week's episode. Although she meets up with Anna, who is attempting the same mission for K-Directorate, Sydney is successful. Upon returning from England, Sydney learns she is being followed by agents from SD-6's security section. After she confronts Sloane with this knowledge, he insists this practice is merely routine procedure. Jack informs Sydney that SD-6 suspects a mole and it is in her best interest to have Vaughn prepare her for a Functional Imagining Test. Syd's next mission takes her to Italy, where she is to have a clock, designed by Rambaldi, repaired by Giovanni Donato. Donato tells Sydney the instrument was made in 1503 and further explains that an engraved symbol, <0>, represents The Magnificent Order of Rambaldi. While Donato further explains the history of Rambaldi, a K-Directorate sniper kills him and Sydney just barely escapes her death. Back in LA, Sydney informs Vaughn she discovered KGB instruction codes in books that her father purchased for her mother. Agent Dryer, from SD-6, gives Sydney her Functional Imagining Test. Even though the results are never told, Dryer informs Sloane that he has discovered their mole. Syd and Dixon are sent on their next mission to Mount Aconcagua, Chile, to recover information regarding Rambaldi. Once in Chile, Anna ambushes Sydney and Dixon is shot.
