INCOMING TRANSMISSION ...

Saturday, June 8th, 2002 Update by: Lugia, Vartan Ho #8

New season 2 spoilers from Wanda!
These include some interesting quotes from The Man himself - J.J. Abrams. ;) Thanks to Kate and Souris you can read them on our Alias season 2 spoilers page.

Speaking of spoilers: Kate has also added new Daredevil spoilers! One is the first available picture of Bullseye and the other is a note from Kevin Smith stating that the Daredevil teaser trailer will be shown before "Minority Report." Cool! Check out more intel about it here.

Fun Stuff!
We've opened a new subsection of Rambaldi's Studio for Fun Stuff! You can take a look at a very cool Vartan Ho banner that was sent in to us. Thanks so much Jori! It rocks!

In other news...
You can take a look at more great Jennifer pictures from the MTV Movie Awards at IMDB. They are originally from Wireimage, but these are bigger versions and *not* watermarked. She's looking so fab!

Furthermore we'd like to give a shout-out to Lori of Vartanetc! She has done a great job with launching her new website Vaughnetc and with setting up a new message board to discuss all things Michael. And if that weren't enough, you can also download a real treat: the promotional video shown at the ABC Upfront in New York. Thanks so much, Lori! :)

What's to come...
Whatever you'll do, DON'T forget to check back here on Monday! ;) We'll have a little somethin' somethin' for you then that's exclusive in Aliasdom and we are *really* psyched about it. We've been working on it for the past month, especially Kate and Souris (who ROCK! Thanks ladies!) and we are really proud to announce that Monday'll finally be the day to unveil it! So, can you guess which section it'll be? ;) We give you a little hint: it involves the Vartini and is loads of fun to browse and to participate in! ;) To find out more check back tomorrow and especially on Monday! ;)

Have a great weekend!

Cute Jennifer & Scott tidbit from the MTV Movie Awards
E!Online's Ted Casablanca has some coverage of the MTV Movie Awards in his gossip column this week that includes a few short quotes from Jennifer. We've archived the tidbit on his page here. Jen & Scott are such an adorable and very funny couple. But then we already knew that. ;)

Bradley's movie "My Little Eye"
Kate has updated our Bradley spoilers page with info on "My Little Eye". If anyone has any more information about this project (for example from the UK, where it's rumored this movie has already been released in 2001), we'd appreciate a heads-up. Thanks for your continued support! :)

That's it for today. And don't forget to vote for Jennifer in EW's "IT List 2002" and TV Guide's "You Sexy Thing" polls. ;)

Updated: Vote for Jennifer in EW's "The It List 2002" poll
Hey 'Hos! Lugia here. Follow this link to Entertainment Weekly's official website and take part in their "It List 2002" poll. Jennifer Garner is listed in their last category, so make sure you don't miss her. She's nominated as "Tough Babe - Which ONE could best put the hurt on the bad guys?" and she's going up against Halle Berry, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Beyonce Knowles and Carrie-Anne Moss. It's a very, very close vote right now, but she's leading. Make sure it stays that way! ;)

New site updates
I've added some newsbytes to the misc news page. You can read a Daredevil blurp from TIME magazine with some Jen quotes (thanks ilovethee_mv) and a Ron Rifkin, Bradley Cooper and Victor Garber tidbit from the Boston Globe (thanks SpyDaddyRulez). Both are archived on the misc news page. :)

Kate compiled all the recent Daredevil spoilers on the Daredevil page, which actually had to be broken down into two pages. We've already got that much information on this project!
She also added some interesting movie news item to the Carl Lumbly spoiler page.

The coincidences page at Section Disparate has been updated with a bit of speculation regarding the name "K-Directorate" (thanks Anna Louise).

And the Ho List is up-to-date as well. Thanks for joining, everyone! :)

Articles
There's an article about Daredevil with Jen quotes that you can read here, and Lugia's started a new miscellaneous news page, where she's added Souris' MTV Movie House recaplet.

You can also read ABC's Lena Olin press release, as she'll be playing the "mysterious mother of Sydney Bristow."

I'm sure something else will come up, but I'll leave that to my fellow 'Hos to update, because I'm off to Grad Nite! Don't forget to check the calendar, and have a great day!

Alias, JG nominated
Jennifer and Alias have been nominated in the Teen Choice Awards, for Best Actress in a Drama, and Best Drama/Action Adventure, respectively. Incidentally, Mr. Garner (aka Scott Foley) has been nominated for Best Actor in a Drama for Felicity.

Additionally, the Television Critics Association has nominated Alias for Best New Program. You can read about it at Zap2it or the Hollywood Reporter.

More articles
There's another bit on the casting of Lena Olin for next season from Variety.

Matt Roush's finale wrap up is now archived, thanks of course to Lugia. She's put the part about Alias in bold text, for those who just want to skip ahead. :)

Michael at charity event!
According to Lori at vartanetc., this Sunday, June 9th, Michael will be working a carnival booth at the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation benefit in Los Angeles, "A Time for Heroes." If you're interested, you can get more information about the fundraiser here.

And watch for Michael in an upcoming issue of Esquire! As we get further information, we'll pass it on.

You Sexy Thing! (Take 2)
TVGuide.com has pitted Jennifer against Sarah Michelle Gellar, so go vote!. They've also added new pictures of Michael and Bradley Cooper, which are definitely worth the look. :)

Daredevil spoilers (recap) and new collages
For those that missed last evening's update, there are major spoilers for Daredevil available!

Finally for this morning, Lugia's added two new collages to the site. Rosemerry has an alternate version of her Almost Thirty Years collage, and the other is something I just sort of whipped up.

Have a great Wednesday, all! I know I will: it's the last day of school!! I'm going to indulge in some mindless celebration of that fact, then pack for what would qualify as an extra-mini-vacation. :)

Evening Update: HUGE spoilers for Daredevil!
Kate here, telling you to run, do not walk, to the Daredevil page to read a very positive set report from the movie! Thanx to AICN for this! Keep in mind there are major spoilers, and a ton of Jen/Elektra-related stuff. (Of course the set reporter had nothing but gleaming remarks for Jen...how cool is she?) Enjoy!

Awards season is beginning
Lugia's archived another article, this one from TVGuide.com. It's their 2002 Emmy picks, And the Nominees Should Be....

Speaking of awards, TVGal is doing awards where readers pick the categories and nominations. She's taking e-mails for categories now if anyone wants to come up with Alias categories. (The Vartan Hos suggust "Best Sexual Tension," "Best Use of French Accent," and "Should- Be Couple.")

Jen quote in EW, picture from MTV movie awards
From the June 7 issue: "We both had bruises and we were comparing them. We were like, nice lives we've found ourselves in the middle of here." -- Jennifer Garner, after filming a fight scene on Alias the day her actor hubby, Scott Foley, performed pratfalls for a Scrubs appearance.

In more JG news, we've got a large version of one of the Jen and Scott pictures we linked to on Sunday, which you can see here. Also, for those that missed yesterday's afternoon update, we've got the first picture of Jen in the Elektra costume! Ah, imagine if Sydney wore an outfit like that in front of
slightly damp
Vaughn. :)

TV reminders
Jennifer will be on MTV's Movie House *today* at 10:30 p.m. EDT for Daredevil, and Michael is in The Next Best Thing, airing 5 pm on Showtime. I suppose if your VCR is as finicky as mine, you'll have to program the movie first, then the MTV show, since that's the order they'll be airing.

ABC Upfront
This is actually from a few weeks ago, but for those who missed it (like me), TV Barn reports that, "Alias shows a behind-scenes clip reel interspersed with comments from Jennifer Garner, who reveals that in the pilot episode, she shot a scene with Ron Rifkind [sic] in which she grabs him by the lapels over and over. She noticed his eyes kept tearing up. Finally he said, 'When you grab me like that, you're grabbing my chest hairs.' Big laugh. Jennifer couldn't be with us today; she's shooting 'Daredevil' with Ben Affleck."

Have a great day, everyone!

Afternoon Update: Pic of JG as Elektra!
Go to the Daredevil spoilers page to see a fabulous picture of Jen in her Elektra outfit. It's the first one available, so check it out!

SpyMomski cast!
According to Variety, actress Lena Olin is set to play Ma Bristow next season. For more information on the actress, visit the Internet Movie Database.

VCR Alert
Don't forget to set your VCRs to catch Michael in Dead Man's Curve (aka The Curve) *today* on USA at 10:30 am Eastern (9:30 Central; I'm not sure whether to be happy or upset that I'm moving to the Central time zone in August!). In case you want to know what the movie is actually *about* before taping it, TVGuide.com says, "Dead Man's Curve -- 120 min. This smart 1998 drama takes a darkly humorous look at the question of how far college seniors might go for perfect grades. The film focuses on two underachieving students (Matthew Lillard, Michael Vartan) desperate to get into Harvard for post-graduate work. They're so desperate, in fact, that they yield to the campus myth that if a student commits suicide, the roommates of the deceased will automatically ace the semester."

Michael TV guide
In addition to the calendar on the right, we've compiled a list of when Michael will be on TV in the next month to help everyone keep better track.

The Sum of All Fears
'chelle reported a humorous Sum of All Fears/Alias coincidence; if you've seen the movie, you probably got a good chuckle out of it. If you haven't seen the movie yet, then this coincidence will qualify as a small movie spoiler. Do as you will. :)

Hellooooooo out there! ::birds chirping::
Don't forget that if you haven't yet gotten your Vartan Ho number, you can still sign up! And if your name wasn't on the list last time you checked, well, it should be now because Lugia updated the list. :)

Jennifer Garner on World Stunt Awards, MTV Movie Awards
For those that missed the World Stunt Awards on Friday, Kate reported that Jennifer presented the award for Best Stunt Choreography. Her name was announced, "lights went straight to the ceiling of the very tall! auditorium, and suddenly Jen comes down with Spiderman holding her arm. It must have been 40 feet up! She was holding on with one hand! They came down, hooked to a single wire." They then "unhooked Jen's wrist from Spiderman and hoisted him back up. Jen just stood there like, 'Ta Daaa!' She was smiling the whole time. It was great!" Thanks, Kate!

Pictures are now available of Jennifer and Scott (Foley, her husband) from the MTV Movie Awards (airing on June 6th at 9 pm Eastern). Here's one from Yahoo!, and quite a few more from Wireimage, which are small but better than nothing. :) You can see just the pictures of Jen and Scott, those same pictures following some solo Jennifer pictures, or you can check out lots of Jennifer pictures, from the Movie Awards and prior events.

New site banner and collages!
Thanks again to Natalias from the SD-6 boards, we've got a new banner. Woohoo!

We've also added two new collages, one by Ascian, and one by rosemerry. I'm feeling inspired; must remember to open up Adobe this summer!

Coming Soon:
Our bartending Vartan Hos have been busy mixing drinks for our Safe House bar, and as of now, it looks like Happy Hour will begin June 10th (for the of-age crowd, of course)! Here's a hint: we've got more than one drink in honor of the lovely Agent Vaughn. :)
