INCOMING TRANSMISSION ...

Sunday, October 6th, 2002 Update by: Mel TM, Vartan Ho #13

Trust Me spoilers/review
Spygirl reminds us that Herc at Ain't It Cool News has his review of tonight's episode up here. There's all manner of inviso-texting fun, so go get yourself psyched! And Kate has added a small spoilery bit to the Trust Me page as well.

Jennifer on Access Hollywood
JG made an appearance on Access Hollywood Friday, and here's Souris' report (as well as my first attempt at invisotext: "She was dressed up as a geisha; JG said it took 5 hours to put on the entire getup and makeup. They said that in the ep, Syd follows Sloane, who is -- Ewwww! -- naked on a table except for a towel about to get a massage. (Oh, please tell me Syd doesn't give Sloane a massage! I must remember not to eat during this ep!)"

Article about JG at Denison
There's a nice article about how the students at Denison are looking forward to hearing Jennifer's speech here. If any of you got to attend, send us a recap!.

Fashion Assassin strikes again
Souris has updated Fashion Assassin for The Enemy Walks In, and we think you'll all agree with the appraisal of Shirtless!Vaughn. Sometimes a lack of wardrobe is the best wardrobe of all.

Fill our hearts with song
There are two new pages of songs you guys sent in for the Music Wish List. You can read them here and here. Keep those suggestions coming!

Things that make you go hmm...
Cindy sent in the latest editing snafu from The Enemy Walks In. Not only is it a great catch, but it shows remarkable attention to an excellent scene. Thanks, Cindy!

Super script
J.J.'s script for the Superman movie is taking quite a few hits from the online community, and he's responding to some of the criticism. Read his take on the fan reaction here. Thanks Souris!

Mailbag day
The new Entertainment Weekly features the reader feedback from the issue with the now-famous "Yowza!" pics. Read the mostly-positive reactions here. Yay for that Syd/Vaughn dynamic!

Everybody enjoy the show tonight!

Articles and reviews...
Another better-late-than-never update today (it's fun to sleep in on Saturdays, no?). We've got plenty of new stuff for you to peruse as you laze away the weekend. The first item is an article about the new season's 10 most outrageous moments to date, which you can find here. Then there are two reviews of Alias, from The (New Jersey) Star-Ledger and from The Detroit Free Press.

...and Miscellaneous news!
We've added many a snippet to the Miscellaneous News page today, so if you want to know about Sunday night's ratings, Mary-Louise Parker's affinity for Alias, networks putting up show video on their websites, Wanda's continued adoration of Michael and Bradley (and some Bradley quotes), or even the Nokia-Alias lovefest, this would be the place to do it. And evidently, if you want to write ridiculously long sentences, I would be the person to give you a tutorial as well.

Episode guide updated
Spygirl has updated our Debriefings section with a rundown of "The Enemy Walks In," so you can brush up on last week's episode to avoid going "huh?" tomorrow night.

J.J. on Chicago radio
Thanks to OLucy at TWoP, we have a summary of a recent interview J.J. did on Chicago radio. Some interesting tidbits there.

TV Guide scans, part deux
TwinnerA, Vartan Ho #95, sent us some different scans of the Jennifer Garner TV Guide cover, since the cable edition had a different layout. So check those out!

Cast interview audio files
In case you missed it yesterday, we've got some new sound files up from the Alias cast and crew in our new Sounds section. They can be accessed here. Remember, these are zipped mp3s, so you have to download these and unzip them before listening to them.

Ted goes to the gym
Or maybe he sent someone. Either way, thanks to Stephanie VHo #448 for the heads-up (although Souris watched her tape for the details!):

Everybody's "favorite" celebrity stalker, Ted Casablanca, mentioned on E! News Live on Thursday that MV was spotted working out at SportsClub L.A. alongside Mark Wahlberg, Ethan Hawke & Joey McIntyre.

Fun with Zap2it: TV Gal and the Network Stars
Zap2it's TV Gal, true to our personal sentiments, has a column about why Syd and Vaughn should kiss already, dammit!. We couldn't have said it better.

Jennifer and Michael have both advanced to the Elite Eight in Zap2it's Showdown of the Network Stars. Voting for the next round starts today, so keep up the show of support!

Action figure news
The Alias action figures and trading cards are listed at Entertainment Earth for March 2003. Thanks to caia1970 at TWoP for the heads-up! We would be eager to learn, though, why they have Jennifer listed as playing Amy Tippin, and what the utility of an Amy/Vaughn two-pack would be. "We'll take 'Characters Who Don't Know Each Other' for $19.99!" We're sure they mean Syd and Vaughn, for which we are quite excited.

Concerned citizens unite
And go vote in the SD-6 poll on whether or not you'd like to see a Syd/Will/Vaughn triangle. To inspire yourself, remember the wise words of Yoda.

I think that may just be everything. Whew. Don't forget to check out yesterday's update if you missed it - there are spoilers within! Enjoy the rest of your Saturday!

Spoiled rotten...
Sorry for the late update folks! To make up for it, we have new episode eight spoilers!

D'oh!
We've added a new blooper, thanks to Amy. Keep them coming folks- we're going to get those editors in shape this season!

Shipper Reporting for Duty...
The VSR for The Enemy Walks In is up! Ah yes, long live the Vaughn/Sydney ship!

Lets make music together...
Check out the new music sound section, where you can feel free to download some great audio clips. There are only two at this moment (Alias cast & crew interview snippets and clips from Michael's movie Fiorile, courtesy of Marsha, Vartan Ho #198. Both are zipped MP3's), but expect more with the new season. You can also find links to other great clips in the articles- interviews section.

Attack of the 50 foot woman?
No, it's just Sydney and family (with the red wig we all know and love) in the amazingly huge Alias billboard! Here's another angle, just to get the grand scope of the size. These were taken on Sunset Blvd., courtesy of Megan, Vartan Ho #506.

The evil 3-headed monster
In our defiance and utter opposition to the evil triangle that's 'developing' on the show, our resident editorial queen Souris has made a little sumpin' sumpin' for you all to ponder and enjoy. Tri-Not!!!. Let us hope that the master can get through to those monkeys!

Jen and Victor pics
We apologize for not remembering who sent us the heads-up on these, but we accidentally deleted your mail! There are press conference images up here! Enjoy!

Thursday, October 3rd, 2002 Update by: Mel TM, Vartan Ho #13

You want names? We've got names!
Well, just the one, really. The title for episode 8 is up here.

Nifty-keen music article
There's a great interview with J.J. and the show's music composer, whose name I shan't risk misspelling here, plus some season 2 music clips. You can find those at Movie Poop Shoot - Knowing the Score. And while I had to shake off the health department association (our news' restaurant inspection report slogan is "Know the score before you walk through the door"), this is a really interesting read. Not so sure about the Vaughn comments, though...

For UK fans
Robin Williams is appearing on Parkinson this Saturday, October 5th (BBC 1 at 10.25pm) to promote OHP, so you just may glimpse Michael in some clips. And don't forget that One Hour Photo opens in the UK on October 4th. Thanks to sponesix!

They're still showing down
Zap2It is still accepting votes in its Showdown of the Network Stars poll, so head on over, do your civic duty, and vote for Jennifer and Michael. Jennifer is in Pacific, and Michael is in Central.

Button up, folks
Lindie, Vartan Ho #426, has spotted another blooper, from Truth Be Told. Just keeping those editors honest. :)

Have a great one!

Final ratings for Alias
Alias finished tied for 39th with a 7.0 rating.

Pass the crow
We goofed. Michael was *not* on Rank last night, as we said he would be (what? The TV schedule of the universe doesn't bend to our will?), and in fact, as kindly pointed out by Corinne, Rank doesn't even premiere until the 20th. Um, can we just say we were distracted by a certain gorgeous smile in the premiere? Thanks to Corinne and Crunk for showing us our error.

Tis the season to get mush-mouthed
Fa la la la la... Check out the addition to Happy Hour, concocted by Sarah, Vartan Ho #370. Um ... yum?

New official episode description
Courtesy of ABC, you can read the episode description for episode 3 on its spoiler page. Can I just say how much I love Jack?? :)

Happy Wednesday!

Happy October!
Is anyone else having trouble comprehending how absurdly quick this year has gone by thus far? Oy. 30 days 'til Halloween; ya think Sydney will dress up as another Disney character? The inquiring mind wants to know. ;)

If you're the type that likes to follow ratings, here's ABC's spin on the Alias ratings for last night:
"Alias" (9:00-10:00 p.m.)
The sophomore season premiere of "Alias" drew and average audience of 11.7 million viewers and a 5.0 rating, 12 share among Adults 18-49, building on its movie lead-in by 4.7 million viewers and by 150% in young adults (7.0 million & 2.0/6). "Alias" boosted ABC into the No. 1 position in the hour in each of the key adult demographics: Adults 18-34 (4.4/11), Adults 18-49 (5.0/12 - tie) and Adults 25-54 (6.2/13).

"Alias" ranked as the No. 1 program of the night in Adults 18-34 (tied w/"The Practice") and as the second-highest-rated program of the night in Adults 18-49 (tied w/"Law & Order: CI"), behind only "The Practice."

Alias chat transcript
In case you missed the chat with Alias writer Jesse Alexander Sunday night, Gennie's got the chat transcript up! There are some reassuring quotes about the VSR (at least, that's how I'm taking them, so if I'm wrong, let me stay that way!), which is refreshing. But I do have a suggestion: everyone should go out and post on message boards how much better they like Will as Syd's *friend* and not as a potential love interest. (...And while we're at it, why not go all the way and ask for scenes at Vaughn's place of residence?...)

Updated: Alias Declassified & DVD
Here are some quotes from Alias Declassified, which are pretty darn interesting, and a little list of some of the contents of the DVD:
*Case File 1.0: Basically a promo for the show with a rundown of the plot
*Bristow Profile: Jennifer Garner interviews (may be the same video they showed at the ABC up-fronts in May, but not 100% sure)
*Interrogations: Cast interview snippets (many that have been seen before)
*Chain of Command: Character bios (from the ABC Web site)
*True Identities: Cast bios
*Spy Game & Special Ops: There's a game that couldn't be accessed because of a sore lack of a DVD-ROM on the computer that was being used

Mr. Anna Espinosa
Thanks to TVFilm411 for sending in this article! You Anna/Gina Torres fans might be interested to learn that she got married the weekend before last; here's more information from Yahoo.

Happy Tuesday! Don't forget Michael's on E! Rank tonight!

Monday, September 30th, 2002 Update by: SB, Vartan Ho #2

Ah, the season has begun!
I don't know about y'all, but I greatly enjoyed last night's episode. :) And that, for now, is all I'm going to say about that. :)

JJ and Superman
Apparently JJ Abrams called Harry at AICN to discuss his uproar-causing Superman script. They talked for hours, it seems, and you can get the details here.

Don't forget, Michael's going to be on Rank tomorrow night! And that, shockingly, seems to be it for now, so have a great Monday, and rewatch the rescue scene a few dozen times. :)
