Spy Sunday
New spy episode tonight! Whee! The fantabulous Gertie has four video clips posted already, along with screen caps, all from the wildfeed. Be kind and use one of the three mirror sites: Mirror 1, Mirror 2, Mirror 3. Herc from AICN has his ep recap up as well. Interesting, *very* interesting! (And remember that tonight is the first ep of sweeps, so the ratings will be *extra* important!)
Spoilers Ahoy... for episode 16
Kerrskeed at Alias Uncovered gifted us with new spoilers! As always, read at your own risk!
VSR for THE episode
Souris took on the hard task to watch the post-Super Bowl ep over and over and over again. ;) As a result you can now read her latest VSR report. And boy, what a report it is! (Would it be a bad thing if I was "shipping" for this section just as much as for our dynamic duo itself? <g>)
Sunday, Shippy Sunday
Yep, the shippyness continues in that we'd like to shout-out Abby O.'s latest music video. Really amazing! Is there such a thing as a MV Ho? ;)
The fan art continues
There's a new, huge, lovely wallpaper thanks to tvwiz. Very, very hot, too, since it's Phase One themed. Thanks for all these creations, guys! :)
Mondo overseas news & articles
Some great news for our international visitors! First off, Latin America: Season 2 of Alias will premiere on March 10th at 9 p.m. on AXN. Before that, they are going to air an Alias Marathon with the last 4 episodes of season 1 on March 3rd at 8 p.m. If anyone in Latin America needs to know about all the airing dates or anything Alias-related, e-mail Anabella, Vartan Ho #566 from Stigmatized, who kindly passed this on to us. :)
Next in line is South Africa: Alias has become quite a hit with South African viewers in the sense that Season 2 starts January 30th, 2003 at 7 p.m. Normally local cable waits a year before airing a new season but because of the show's popularity, eager fans are getting it quite early this year as season 1 only ended in November 2002. Read more details at our overseas headlines page where the other overseas items have been archived as well. Thanks to Viv from Capetown, South Africa, for this exciting intel!
Another gem, this time from the UK: We have Daredevil & Jen coverage from two magazines for ya. There's a BIG Daredevil article in the Empire UK March 2003 edition, issue #165. The scans come to you with many, many thanks to Charlotte and the Jennifer article transcript is thanks to
Amelia, Vartan Ho #712. :)
Secondly, Jennifer features on the cover of UK men's mag Arena this month which also contains an interview and Daredevil article. Again, thanks to both Charlotte and Amelia for the heads-up!
I'm sure this won't be the last time we've heard from Alias around the world! ;) Pretty mind-blowing!
Speaking of Articles
Jen & Ben (I just love how that rhymes) will be featured on the cover of TV Guide! That's gonna get them some publicity! Yay! SuperHeroHype.com got their hands on an early copy, so you can preview the cover and Daredevil article here. Kate has also been really busy keeping the Daredevil spoilers page up-to-date. Some fantastic stuff on there, including a link to more video clips! This will definitely "garner" Jen more fans! She looks stunning!
In other article news, Becky has put out a TV Addict column, titled "The 2002 Television Season Whoop-or-Poop Round-Up," which contains critiques of some fab shows, Alias included.
More with the stunning...
Almost too good to be true, but we have almost 1250 'Hos now, joining us in our Vartan love! On that note, a very warm (OK, it's HOT, really! <g>) welcome to Vartan Ho #1200, Mindles! Check up on your 'Ho number and the latest entries here and here. Or, you know, join us. ;)
MV TV listings for next Sunday
Aside from another new Alias ep next Sunday, Michael will be on TV in "Touch Me" at 10 a.m. on February 9th on Lifetime. And thrillingly, this screening will be followed by "It Had To Be You" at noon (times are et/pt). Thanks to Janet!
As for this Sunday: Happy Shipping! :)

Update by: Souris, Vartan Ho #4

OT: The Columbia Catastrophe
We at The Safe House were all shocked to hear about the great tragedy surrounding the breaking apart of the Columbia space shuttle today. We remember the Challenger catastrophe all too clearly and were physically shaking when we first heard about this tremendous new loss. We'd like to express our deepest sorrow and extend our sympathy to all those who have lost loved ones. The Columbia orbiter itself will be dearly missed, too. This is a sad day and everyone will be and remain in our thoughts.
Spoilers! Get yer
spoilers!
If you missed yesterday's late update, we added spoilers for a new episode. ABC scooped us all!
Radio daze
J.J. Abrams was a guest on the Kevin & Bean radio show on L.A. station KROQ
yesterday. You can listen to his interview on the KROQ Web site.
You'll find it under the Kevin & Bean Sights & Sound tab on the left menu.
Thanks to Adriana for the link! It's a really fabulous clip. Apparently
J.J. wasn't thrilled with Penn & Teller's pickle-jar trick and Bon Jovi's
"concert," either. If you can't listen to it, Tammy has provided a recap of what
he said.
Merrin Dungey hit the airwaves, too, appearing on New York's Z100 radio
show to talk about the twist with Francie. We added some spoilery things
she had to say to our Miscellaneous
Spoilers page. Thanks to RMeyer9970 of the Syd-and-Vaughn list!
Time to hit the panic
button?
According to Mike Duffy of the Detroit Free Press, "Alias" is facing
cancellation. Frankly, the Hos think his panic is a bit premature
and Chicken Little-ish, since ABC's other attempts to launch dramas have
been met with even less viewership than "Alias" gets, and "Alias" at
least has buzz and does well in the younger demographics that advertisers
love. Surely ABC needs something besides sitcoms and reality shows.
So we're advising Mike to take a chill pill. That said, it can't do a bit
of harm to take a second and sign the online petition to save
"Alias.".
You wanna read about
Alias? We gotcha covered
Entertainment Weekly has a News & Notes article about the show's post-Super
Bowl ep. Thanks to all who sent that in or gave the heads-up about
it, including kathleenprins at TWoP and Vartan Ho #428. Great stuff,
including quotes by J.J. and Merrin. The fans weren't the only ones
"spitting blood" about the late start.
Also thanks to kathleenprins at TWoP, we have a TVGuide.com interview with Media Girl of the Day, Merrin.
An article about Mr.
Garner, Scott Foley, and his new show, "A.U.S.A.," contains some
quotes by him about Jennifer. Tvfilm411 at vartanetc provided a link to
another "Where do we
go from here?" article. We've also added a Star-Telegram
article about the men
of Alias that contains some lovely quotes from them about JG.
Thanks to CricketClarke for that one.
And, Vlada provided us with scans of the TV Guide Insider and print ad for
Sunday's
episode.
Mo' media, mo' media, mo'
media
Kenzi, Vartan Ho #679, let us know that Jen is on the cover of the new
Teen People. The article contains quotes on how great Jen is from MV,
BC and Ben Affleck. Jen also reveals what she and MV do on their bicycles
every morning and which co-star she'd like to take in a fight.
Michelle let us know that USAToday.com's Robert Bianco, who selects the
best of what's on TV each week in "Critic's Corner," chose "Alias" as one
of the shows to watch. There's also a dig at ABC in there for shooting
itself in the foot with all the Super Bowl post-game coverage. Here's what
he said: "Ethan Hawke guests on Alias (ABC, Sunday, 9 p.m. ET/PT) as a
CIA agent who may not be all that he appears. Happily, it appears that the
show's fabulous post-Super Bowl episode introduced this incredibly
entertaining series to a host of new viewers -- though it might have
reached even more had ABC and the NFL, in their combined greed and
stupidity, not stretched the postgame out past all endurance." Sing it,
Robert.
Attention, un-American
Hos!
OK, that didn't sound quite right. For you Brits, Sian, Vartan Ho #336,
wrote us: "Thought other Brits who are eagerly awaiting new episodes of
Alias (read as "suffering serious withdrawl and cursing Sky1 every other
minute"!!) would like to know that there is now a fixed date for the start
for Season 2. Just heard back from Sky1, and they are going to start
showing Season 2 of Alias on 4th March, 8 p.m. (fingers crossed that the
slightly earlier start won't precipitate cuts for violence like channel 4's
treatment of season 1)"
For Canadian fans, Tania and Nadia let us know that you can pick up this
month's issue of Tribute magazine from the movies or
Chapters/Indigo. "Daredevil" is featured on the front cover of the
magazine, which has an interview with Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck. We
hope you all enjoy, and let us know if there's anything of interest in the
article.
Around the Safe
House
We've added two new guest-star entries to our Hall of Fame section,
some bloopers and a bunch of songs
to the Wish List here, here and here.
Set your VCRs
Vartypants tells us that TVGuide.com lists MV's movie
"Touch Me" as showing on Feb. 9. She didn't tell us which channel, but
we're assuming it's Lifetime Movie Network, since that's where it has aired
before. Check your local listings for time and channel.
I think I need a long sleep after that. Enjoy what's left of your Saturday
after reading The. Longest. Update. Ever.

Spoilers Ahoy!
Update: 5PM. We've added spoilers for a new episode! Check them out!
Double Agent spoiler!
Souris has added this exclusive spoiler
for Sunday's episode, courtesy of a very kind anonymous source. I'm all a-tingle.
J.J. on KROQ
Early morning heads-up for L.A.-area fans: JJ is scheduled to be on KROQ radio
this morning, so ease your morning commute by listening for spoilers. And then
report back for those of us whose morning shows are still replaying audio
of the five-year-old singing "Let's Get it On" from "American Idol." Thanks to
Clarksvenus at Forums 4 Fans
for the info!
J.J. at the Paley Festival
Thanks to Vlada for the following: From the Museum of
Television and Radio in L.A., Monday, March 3 at 7:00 p.m. the William
H. Paley Television Festival will host the "Creating Drama" discussion. Here's
the rundown:
In Person: J. J. Abrams, Steven Bochco, Tom Fontana, Aaron Sorkin,
Dick Wolf
A panel of leading television-drama auteurs -- the heirs not only to
pioneers like Paddy Chayefsky, Reginald Rose, and Rod Serling, but
also to serial novelists like Charles Dickens and American realists
like Theodore Dreiser -- will discuss how they use the medium to
explore values and lifestyles in contemporary society.
There's ticket information and location address (the Director's Guild
of America) at the site above.
It's not J.J., but we like it anyway
Han sent word that Melissa Rivers' Trendspotting feature on E! Online features
this video
clip praising Jennifer's awards dresses. And you know, Missy never lies...
Be our guest
Aliasboards has a new interview with a guest star from "Double
Agent," Bru Miller. The interview is here
and contains a few spoilers. You have to be registered to read the article.
Star-crossed and error-laden
That's my oblique way of letting you know that Kate has updated both the
coincidences and bloopers
sections. So check out the latest from the Fates and the Faux Pas.
Have a fantastic Friday. I think you can safely start those "Double Agent"
countdowns now...
