Even more spoilers...
Update: 2pm. We've added some more spoilers to our episode 17 spoilers page...and we've also added a new episode title. Enjoy : )
Alias 3.0
We'll start off this morning with a very happy news item: Alias has officially
been renewed for a third season! You can read the official press release
here.
Now we can embrace the "Hakuna Matata" philosophy for the rest of the year. (Did I just
shout-out Disney? Yikes!)
For a little background on ABC's situation, check out this link, sent
in by SpyDaddyRules at TWoP, to a New York Daily News article about the network's
reality issues. And if you're looking for an apology, even a tiny dose of shame, about
"Are You Hot?"--nope. Sorry. I know, I was disappointed too.
Itty bitty spoilers...
...are better than no spoilers at all. To that end, Souris has added
this tidbit about
"A Dark Turn."
She's ba-ack
Word has it that the new all-Elektra, all-the-time movie starring Jennifer
Garner is a go. Here's the press release.
There may be a slight spoiler for "Daredevil" if you haven't seen it.
Alice, we hardly knew ye
And yet it still seemed like too much. If you want to take a look back at the episode
that brought us the Ex-Plot Device, check out Spygirl's great new screencaps of "The Counteragent."
Alice's not included. Vaughn, on the other hand...
The love just keeps on coming
And with it, it brings statues! DizzyMissLiz at TWoP sent us this news item from Variety:
"Alias" took the prize for single camera television series Saturday
at the Art Directors Guild's seventh annual Excellence in Production
Design Awards Banquet at the Beverly Hilton, with production designer
Scott Chambliss marveling, "I can't believe that anybody actually
notices the background when Jennifer Garner is in the foreground.
Thanks for noticing."
And if that weren't enough, "Cipher" has been nominated for a
Cinema Audio Society Award for
outstanding sound mixing in a television series. The awards will be held March 8. Here is the full category list:
Alias – "Cipher"
CSI: Crime Scene Investigation – "Fight Night"
Six Feet Under – "The Last Time"
24 – "11:00 P.M. to 12:00 A.M."
The West Wing – "Posse Comitatus"
The X-Files – "The Truth" 9x20 Finale
Thanks to denzylle at TWoP for the info!
An error in Focus
Kate's added some Ford-related bloopers to
the season 2 page. If you ask me, the entire blatant product placement idea was one giant
"oops," but the money's not going in my pocket, so what do I know?
That's all for today. We apologize for the lack of update yesterday. I'd claim "Snow day--slept in"
as my excuse, but unless you consider driving to class with the ice-encrusted windows down in 28 degree
weather just so you can see the road a snow day, that wouldn't be true. I tell you, you
haven't lived until you've been whapped in the face by ice chunks at 50 mph for 25 minutes.
Anyway, try to avoid such scenarios, be safe, and have a great Thursday!

Read all about
it!
And read and read. First, find out what J.J. has to say about everyone's
new favorite supporting character, The
Car. Thanks to Aliasscape at TWoP for that one.
Also in the TWoP universe, kenyaj provided a link to this week's Ask
Matt column.
Marly, Vartan Ho #443, sent us a scan of an article about "Phase
One" from Soap Opera Digest. They liked the kiss. ;-)
Finally, Jessica let us know about perhaps the first article to criticize
Jen's range.
Someone else for the Hall
of Fame
According to Zap2it, Jennifer Garner has been added to the list of Academy Award presenters. Think it has anything to do with the fact
that ABC is airing the Oscars this year? Nah. ;-)
A TV maven by any other
name...
We've added some spoilers from Kristin's
chat Monday evening, including her take on the latest casting
spoiler/rumor.
Victor, get down off that
roof!
Unfortunately, the current specter of war has put a halt to the production
of "Fiddler
on the Roof,", which was to have starred Victor Garber and been
filmed overseas. Please forgive my ineloquence, but that sucks!
Around the House
Kate has updated the music
list with the music from "Firebomb." And we've added two new drinks
to the Happy Hour section.
Jen and the "Daredevil"
Boys' Club
For those that missed it, Jen's "Dinner for Five" episode will be repeated
Monday, March 3, at 8 p.m. on IFC.
Crunching
numbers
ABC put its spin on Sunday
night's ratings: "From 9:00-10:00 p.m. among Adults 18-49, 'Alias'
(4.2/9) beat NBC's '1st to Die' by 8% (3.9/9) and Fox's 'X-Men' by 17%
(3.6/8). ABC (4.2/10) also defeated NBC (2.9/7) and Fox (4.0/10) in the
hour among Adults 18-34. Despite competing against the 'Grammy Awards,'
'Alias' improved on its own season average in both Adults 18-34 (4.2/10 vs.
3.8/9) and Adults 18-49 (4.2/9 vs. 4.1/9)."
Have a great Tuesday!

The Grammys
The Grammys were on yesterday evening which meant tough competition for Alias. Sweeps programming can be a pest sometimes, can't it? ;) This is what the Fast Nationals are according to Zap2it: "CBS continued to pull away at 8 with "The 45th Annual Grammy Awards." Airing from New York for the first time in five years, the Grammys brought in the night's highest ratings, averaging 15.2/23 between 8-11. The NBC movie "1st To Die" ran a respectable second, averaging 9.5/14 for the hour. The first hour of FOX's network premiere of "The X-Men" finished third, with the second hour of "I'm A Celebrity" averaging a 5.4/8 for ABC. On The WB, two episodes of "The Surreal Life" averaged 1.8/3. From 9-10 p.m., "The 45th Annual Grammy Awards" averaged 15.7/23, ahead of the building NBC movie. The second hour of "The X-Men" was good for third with 5.3/8, beating a new episode of "Alias" on ABC with a 5.1/7. Two more episodes of "The Surreal Life" averaged 2.2/3." Make of that what you will! ;)
On another Grammy note: apparently, Joan Rivers mentioned Alias yesterday! Now if that isn't a shocker, I don't know what is! ;) rmeyer9970 posted the following scoop at various lists: "there was an alias mention on joan's grammy pre-show. christian slater walked up to her mike... and she said 'sooooo, alias is a big hit'. and he said 'yeah, it's a lot of fun...' ". Pretty cool, huh?
New Rumor
And that's all it is! We won't classify this as a spoiler, especially as it originated from IMDB.com, which, lets just say, hasn't got a stellar record of being right. We can by no means confirm any of it, but it's been floating around, so we thought we'd keep you in the loop. It's not detailed ep information anyhow, just a potential title and two possible guest stars/characters. Take it with a mine of salt!
Lovely new wallpapers
Spring is here (at least where I live!), so how about some spring cleaning and redecorating? We've got just the right thing for you, namely three new wallpapers. Kirsten and Lindsay were kind enough to send these along and you can find them at the bottom of this page. Hope you enjoy and don't forget to give feedback! :)
That's all for this post-Alias day. Have a good one!
