And the winners are...
The results of our January caption contest are in,
and we actually had a tie for first place! We also listed the top ten runners-up.
Congrats to the winners!
The picture for next month's contest is now available, so if you want to take
a stab at this one, e-mail your caption suggestion to
captionthis@vartanho.com.
Please keep them short and sweet--about 2 to 3 lines--since we get quite a
few submissions for the contest. Have fun!
Another red carpet scorcher
Mez, Vartan Ho #2206, passed on this tidbit from Australia's Who Weekly magazine:
"Michael Vartan just kissed me hello!" said a star-struck Jennifer Love Hewitt at the InStyle party, "and Tom Cruise stepped on my dress. I nearly fainted. I just need to see Jude Law and my evening would be complete." She wasn't the only one. "I really want to meet Jude Law," admitted Vartan, "after seeing him in Cold Mountain, he's my new favourite actor."
Alias in Latin America
Anabella, Vartan Ho #566, wrote to tell us that in Latin America, AXN will be airing Alias every day (probably reruns of the 2nd season).
Here's the schedule (all air-times are in Argentina time. Colombia, Ecuador and Perú should add 1 hour; Bolivia and Venezuela should take out 1 hour):
Daily reruns: Mondays to Fridays, 12:00pm & 7:00pm
Weekly episodes (still reruns): Mondays 9:00pm; Tuesdays 3:00am and 2:00pm; Sundays 7:00pm; Mondays 4:00am.
Also, there'll be an Alias Marathon on February 27th.
Site issues
We're having some trouble with one of our servers this morning, so if you get a broken
link on the site today, that's why. We hope to have everything accessible soon!
That's about all for this Super Sunday. Enjoy the game (or the commercials, or
the counterprogramming). Since I'm from the South and I'd hate to spoil Souris'
Panther karma, I'll throw in a "Go Panthers!" on her behalf. Say...anybody else going
to miss having to sit through half an hour of Penn and Teller this year? I can't say I am,
but if it meant another "Phase One," I think I'd just endure it. :)

The French Connection...
Many thanks to our French connection, Helene, Vartan Ho #563, for a great "Séries Mag" (January/February 2004 issue) scan with MV on the cover. Yummy Michael pics in the morning. It's better than Special K, it is. ; )
Episode 16
Episode 16's title and writing credits are up, so check it out!
Scheduling galore
According to the ABC Primetime Schedule Grid, episode 14 is set to air on March 7th. Alias will also air on March 14th, 21st, 28th, with episode titles to follow. We'll keep you posted on any changes. : )
Alias in the UK
From Paulabear in Scotland: "Just some UK Alias gossip - Channel 5 (terrestrial TV) had the rights to
Season 3 but wasn't committing to showing it, but now Bravo (the UK digital
satellite version!) has bought it - hooray, only a month and a bit to go!" You can find out more about this here folks! Thanks again Paulabear!
Happy last day of January!

Gotta love Action!Vartan
Thanks to Gwen Antonio, today we have our favorite thing to shout out: something strictly Michael-related! In this case, some more pictures of Michael Vartan from the "Stars With Sticks" charity hockey game. They're on the bottom row. BTW, Beverly let us know that the Los Angeles Times reported that the event "raised about $50,000 for the Starlight Children's Foundation." Looking at pictures of Michael is a fine way to start the day, isn't it?
In other MV news, Beverly also let us know about two of his movies that will be on TV this week. "One Hour Photo" will air on Cinemax Feb. 2 at 9:35 a.m. and Feb. 6 at 3:00 p.m. "To Wong Foo, Thanks for Everything, Julie Newmar" will air Feb. 6 at 8:00 p.m. on Bravo. Times are Pacific. What, only two MV movies on the 6th? I expect a 24-hour marathon of MV movies on my birthday, darn it!
And the winner is...
Jennifer Garner, who will be the host of the Academy's Sci-Tech awards on Feb. 14 and will present the results at the on-air Academy Awards ceremony on Feb. 29. We added two blurbs about it here and here. Thanks to Rosalva and Kim for sending us the news.
News for the British Hos
Paulabear let us know some UK Alias news: "Channel 5 (terrestrial TV) had the rights to
Season 3 but wasn't committing to showing it, but now Bravo (the UK digital
satellite version!) has bought it." You can read details about when it will air on this message board.
Vote early and vote often
Well, you should be limited to one vote per question. But if you haven't taken our poll yet, check it out!
Happy TGIF! And, one more time, Go Panthers! :-D

No chance of dimpled chads here (but maybe a dimpled Michael)
Since we're in an Alias drought at the moment, with no new ep until Feb. 15, we thought we would create a short poll for our visitors. The Hos have been talking a lot among ourselves about Vaughn and our rather strong concerns about the portrayal of his character, and we're very interested in seeing what you think. Some of the questions are serious, and some are (hopefully) fun. With all the caucuses and primaries going on in the U.S. right now, it's time to get into the voting spirit and weigh in with your opinions!
Speaking of polls, ESPN.com is holding a people's choice poll for the top TV show. The "Page 3 Clicker Picker Showdown" lists favorites in four regions, a la March Madness, with Alias in the Drama region. Alias has
advanced to the quarterfinals and is up against 24. We're not sure how often the results are calculated, so it's possible the vote may have moved on to the next round by the time you read this. (Wow, The Daily Show vs. SportsCenter? How do I choose? How do I choose??) Thanks to Susan, Ho #1406, and Amy V, Ho #1673, for the heads-up.
But will it "Catch" on?
We have added a couple of short news items about J.J. Abrams and Greg Grunberg's new TV show about bounty hunters, The Catch.
A little more complex than Pong
Bron, Vartan Ho #2184, passed on scans of a cool article about the Alias
game from the Australian PlayStation magazine play(TM).
For those of you dealing with winter weather, stay safe and warm! (Actually, that sentiment goes for pretty much everyone....) Have a good Thursday!
