INCOMING TRANSMISSION ...

Sunday, July 4, 2004 Update by: Mel TM, Vartan Ho #13

Happy Fourth!
It's America's birthday again, and we hope everyone has fun celebrating. If you want to feel truly involved in history, this website has lots of interesting articles as well as a link that allows you to sign the Declaration of Independence alongside the Founding Fathers. You can print it out and display your own John or Jane Hancock right next to the real one. That's kind of cool, especially since it's government-sanctioned forgery of sorts!

And of course...
Barbecues, fireworks, and the red-white-and-blue--all fine elements of an Independence Day celebration, but what would a Vartan Ho party be without some nice high-res Michael pics? We have more from Jinnie (whose URL has changed, by the way), including a pic from the Makeup Artist and Hairstylist Guild Awards last year and a bunch from September's Primetime Preview Weekend. Thanks as always, Jinnie!

Well, that's that for today. We'd just like to take a minute to express our gratitude to those serving the country overseas and our sincere hope that they will make it home safely. Have a wonderful Fourth!

Better late then never...
See, we figure if we shout out the Resurrection caps now, it'll feel like the show just ended last week, thus making January seem that much closer. Or something. Anyhoo, it's pretty and yummy Michael courtesy of Patrick the Godlike.

That's it for today, but we here at the Safe House wish everyone in the US a fun and safe Independence Day!

Again with the pretty!
Today's installment of "Hot Hi-Res Pics of Michael" features the post-Oscar Vanity Fair party from earlier this year. Continued thanks to Jinnie! I'll try to avoid the bad puns today. But we really are Jinn-uininely thrilled to have them! Oops.

We've also added another picture to that last batch of "Monster-in-Law" set pics that somehow went astray when we added them originally. Again thanks to Criss!

Elektra-fied
USA Today had a nice article about "Elektra," with quotes from Jennifer and a small peek at her new red Elektra costume.

As a Panthers fan, I'm totally abusing my WNP privileges today to encourage Hos everywhere to please go vote for QB Jake Delhomme for Breakthrough Performer in the ESPYs. I lurve Jake. He came off the bench at halftime of the first game of the season and led the team back from a 17-point deficit to win. And took us to the Super Bowl after we were 1-15 two years ago. And he's cute and nice. And he's from the Crawdad Capital of the World. And, hey, he's got "ho" in his name! So it's, like, fated. But we won't revoke your Ho membership if you vote for someone else... ;-)

We have winners!
Welcome to July! You can now check out the winners of the June Caption Contest, and participate in the new game. We got some very creative and unique entries and thank you all again for keeping this so diverse and enjoyable. You all rock!

Classic MV
Thanks to Jinnie, we've added some new high-res photos of Michael, this time from the 2003 ABC Upfronts. Close up, that sexy stubble looks more like a beard...

SpyDaddy as a colonial
Amy let us know that "Victor Garber has been appearing on the PBS series 'Liberty! The American Revolution.' SpyDaddy appears as John Dickinson." Thanks, Amy!

According to the very cool official website, it's a six-part series of one-hour documentaries, which describes "how the American Revolution evolved and how a new nation was born in the aftermath of the Revolutionary War, using actors, Revolutionary era scholars, and eyewitness accounts of the time. [...] It was originally broadcast Nov. 23 - 25, 1997." Check the site for more, including upcoming broadcasts!

"Morgana, la leggenda di Camelot"
International movie titles are always sounding so much cooler, even though they're usually not very creative. ;) Italian VHos will have the pleasure of watching MV as Lancelot in "The Mists of Avalon" for the first time this Sunday, July 4th at 8:45 p.m. on Italia 1. You will not want to miss this! Many thanks to Raflesia for the heads-up!

Don't forget that Jennifer is on TRL this afternoon! Have a fun July day!

The pic frenzy continues
Oldy, but goody pics today. There are two nicely sized photos of Michael attending the "Never Been Kissed" premiere. That was in spring 1999, so he's still looking quite shy. It's definitely fun comparing all the old media to the new. Thanks to Jinnie for the opportunity!

JG on "Total Request Live" tomorrow
Jennifer is on the schedule for MTV's TRL show this Thursday, July 1st at 5:00 p.m. ET/PT. We're not sure if she'll be on live, but since the other guests are pretty major, it might be a taped segment. The website states, "Brandy stops in & we catch up with Hollywood's biggest actresses -- Halle Berry, Sandra Bullock & Jennifer Garner." Worth checking out either way! Many thanks to Carl for the heads-up!

"Coup de Foudre au Plaza"
That's "It Had To Be You" in French, Michael's romantic comedy with Natasha Henstridge. According to Helene, it will be airing on TF1 next week, on Monday, July 5th at 2:45 p.m. Thanks for the alert, Helene! Enjoy it!

That's about it. Be sure to check back tomorrow for the winners of this month's caption contest! Have a pleasant day! :)

The green-eyed definitely-not-a-monster
To continue the high-res bonanza, we have added a couple of very nice images of MV from the recent All-Star Family Sports Jam. Again, big thanks to Jinnie for her Jinnie-rosity. Hee. That was really bad, wasn't it?

Try to erase the bad pun from your mind and have a great Tuesday!

Life-sized dimples
Well, almost! The fantabulous Jinnie, Vartan Ho #1945, has provided us with even more high-resolution photos of Michael Vartan at events. Access 14 new pics from the "13 Going on 30" premiere if you think you can survive it! ;) They might take a while to download, but are similar in size to Patrick's caps or scans we've posted, so your connection shouldn't suffer. That man is unearthly gorgeous! A million thanks, Jinnie!

Happy Hour
If you want to catch up on some Michael movies over the summer, check with the US listings page at TV-Now.com. Be sure to celebrate them with our fun movie drinks! Happy Hour has come in handy for watching soccer, too. With a little imagination, after all, it's almost like watching Boxer!Vaughns running around, or, considering the penalties lately, you could always use a One In Five!

Have a sunny day!
