We've updated with an album of "Sticks" fan pics, thanks to Karen B. and Jinnie. Some are blurry or true snapshots (live in the moment!), but there are a lot of great photos, too. Thanks for giving us an idea of what it's like being at such a game, Karen!
Sticky action
MV did indeed attend yesterday's "Stars with Sticks" hockey game, and WireImage has nice coverage of the event. It's not easy to spot him on the field, but lucky for us, he did that whole photo op thing in front of the sponsors' wall. :) We'll keep our eyes peeled for more! Hope he and everybody who went to see him (and the game), had a great time!
My thoughts are with those facing Katrina!

"Fantasy" Michael
Michael got cornered by "Entertainment Tonight" and "Extra" at a celebrity fantasy-football gathering. You can see the "ET" clip that aired, the one they posted on their Web site and the "Extra" one here. He really did want to be just about anywhere else than answering reporters' questions that he really can't answer right now, anyway. We also archived the ET article.
Donations update
We've officially reached our first goal for the ad, with $3240 in donations. Whoo! Thank you so much! Now we're after the full-page bleed to make the ad look nicer -- and we really hope some extra to donate to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation (the Freeze the Disease charity).
Those lucky ones of you who are attending "Stars With Sticks" today, have a great time! We look forward to hearing all about it and seeing your pictures. :-)

MV on "ET" alert!
Michael will apparently appear on "Entertainment Tonight" this evening. He was interviewed at the Second Annual Hollywood Fantasy Football League draft for the upcoming TV special "NFL Total Access Hollywood Fantasy Football League." You can read an article and watch a videoclip here. He looked a bit fidgety, all decked out in his Saints gear, being asked about the campaign and what's going on with "Alias." As usual he was modest while being evasive.
Top of the taters
Michael will soon have some stylish, spud-shaped new decoration in his house, because
he's just won Best Drama King at Kristin's Tater Top Awards in
a pretty hotly contested category. He finished second in both the "Best Show of Skin" category (I protest) and
the "Future Husband Kristin Should Just Go Ahead and Marry" (dodged a bullet there). But hey,
one golden potato is fashionable...more than that, it's just tacky.
More campaign mentions
Helene passed on a couple more links to stories about the
MV campaign. One is from
Yahoo! France and
is more gossipy than we'd like, but it does mention the flurry of e-mails ABC is getting.
The next is from MSN and is basically
a rehash of other stories (which is really what most of them are at this point!). The campaign
does get a mention in today's issues of US Weekly and People, and we're told more extensive stories
could appear in next week's issues.
German fans
If you live in Germany, you can catch Michael in "Never Been Kissed" on Saturday, Sept. 3,
8.15-10.20 p.m. on RTL.

Campaign roundup
Here's what's going on with the various elements of the Michael campaign. Yesterday
the campaign was mentioned on two Denver-area radio stations, Alice 105.9 and MIX 100.3
(thanks to Lisa for letting us know). The Entertainment Tonight poll of whether Michael
should stay on "Alias" is down now, but it stayed in the 80-90% "Yes" range throughout
voting. And last but not least, Jodi from MV Campaign talked to
a reporter from People about the campaign. She'll be quoted in the "Scoop" section in this
week's issue, which hits newsstands either today or tomorrow, depending on where you live.
Very cool.

Souris was able to get her hands on an advance copy of the Monster-in-Law DVD, so if you
want a preview of what's on it, check it out here.
Sounds like it might benefit from a bit more Michael than it has, but isn't that always the case?

Our donation total for the ad project is currently $3,061, so we only have about a hundred
dollars to go before we're guaranteed a full-page ad. Our next goal is to get the ad to

Mass Michael Media
Well, yesterday was a very interesting day, to put it mildly! MV Campaign got a LOT of publicity. It started with an article in The New York Post's Page Six column and continued with an article on People.com, a story on "Entertainment Tonight," mentions on various radio shows across the country and the "Today" show, etc., etc. Wow. We had no idea it would ever be such a publicity frenzy. It's more than a little overwhelming. Thank you to all the many, many people who sent us links to the articles and heads-up about the mentions! There were so many we can't reply to you all individually right now, but it's much appreciated. Word sure got around fast.
Because of all the coverage, inevitably some of the places got some of the facts wrong or mixed up, and engaged in some salacious speculation. We just want to emphasize that we want no part of the gossip and rumor-mongering and innuendo, and neither does the MV Campaign. That is not what any of us are about. All we want to do here at The Safe House is show our support and appreciation for Michael in what we hope is a positive manner with the ad -- and not freak him out too much! I bet today was a pretty strange day for him, as well, given his dislike for publicity.
We've updated with a vidclip of the "Entertainment Tonight" story. Huge thanks to Alicia, Vartan Ho #584, for supplying that, since my vidclipping programs are on the fritz right now.
In conjunction with their report, "Entertainment Tonight" is doing a poll about Michael's status on "Alias." We don't know how long it will be active, but if it's still up, you can vote here. It's partway down the page.

Poll-stuffing alert!
Do you have a crush on Michael? Then let it be known by voting for him on the ECrush fantasy crush chart. Right now he's at No. 83, and that's unforgivably low. He's listed in the pull-down menu under "M." Perhaps I'm showing my age, but I have no clue who three of the top five people are.
Update on donations
The latest total for donations to buy an ad to show Michael how much we appreciate him is $2,770. We're getting very close to our first goal of $3,180 for a full-page black-and-white ad. Only a few hundred more dollars.... Remember, every little bit helps! If you've missed why we're so eager to do this, make sure you read last Thursday's update.

Bring your cameras
We're really looking forward to MV at "Stars with Sticks" this Saturday. Good opportunity for people to cheer him on, and making him feel all hot and intense and warm and fuzzy at the same time. It was just awesome how many photos and material you guys sent from the "Freeze the Disease" game. I hope just as much fun will be had this time! We unfortunately can't go, but we'll live vicariously through you if you let us post your pics and recaps. ;) Aren't these cute? (Though seeing him with "Keith Mars" just gave me a really weird idea.)
I hope things actually slow down over here with the start of school, what with World Youth Day being over and all. Hope you have as much action as you want today!
