Come and See the World of Michael Vartan
We have another music video to make the weekend complete. It was created by chandybing and works beautifully in showcasing MV's movie and TV roles. You could say it's the counterpart to the Vaughn clip we posted yesterday. So much intriguing stuff he did! If you're in the mood for loads of kissy scenes and MV through the years, this is for you! Brace yourself for teh sexy. Many thanks to chandybing for letting us host it!
If you look at the calendar, you know the week ahead will be a good one!

More Sticks pics -- again!
Thanks to Perri, we've added even more pictures of Michael from Stars With Sticks. Can't get enough of pictures of Michael! Which is good, because he had a lot of cameras trained on him during that event.
Sort-of confirmation, maybe, in a way
An "Alias" staffer seems to have confirmed Michael's departure from the show in a roundabout and unnamed way, which you can read about at TV Guide. I hope I don't need to tell you (but I will anyway) that nobody involved with the MV Campaign had anything to do with the purported "memo" that the NY Post referenced. Spreading personal rumors is completely not what the campaign is about, and nobody seems to have heard of such a memo before it being written about in Page Six. More likely it's something Page Six or someone seeking to discredit the campaign and Michael's fans has made up.
Saying goodbye
Sydsbiggestfan has crafted an amazing farewell video showing Vaughn through the seasons. If you can keep your eyes dry, you'll be one up on me! It's a beautiful, affecting work.
More about donations
We've had a few people suggest that we donate the money we've raised for the ad for Michael to the Red Cross Hurricane Relief Fund instead. It's a really nice thought, and we know people's hearts are in the right place, but there are several problems with that. First, we feel that it would be dishonest and wrong of us to take money from people for one specific purpose and then use it for something else, even something as worthy as hurricane relief. It would be breaking a promise to those who had donated. We feel that it's important that we keep our promises, both to the donators and the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, to whom we have promised the extra money raised.
And perhaps more compelling, not buying the ad could open us up to serious legal consequences. Because we specified that the donations were gifts to us for the express purpose of buying an ad for Michael, to do otherwise could mean that we would be guilty of Internet fraud. You really have to be careful when you're publicly raising money for something -- you gotta do what you promise you're going to do with it. We certainly do not want to risk any sort of legal problems. Even if it's a small chance, we're not comfortable with risking it. That's scary stuff. So we NEED to buy the ad at this point.
We hope people understand our position and why it's not a simple "oh, just donate all the money to charity" thing. And we hope that people are also able to donate to the hurricane relief fund, or any other charity they choose to. There are always lots of worthy charities out there. Supporting one cause does not mean you can't support other causes, too.
And as an added note, Michael wasn't on the NBC relief benefit concert.

More Sticks pics
Kat at katrosephotography.com sent us these great photos from
Stars With Sticks, including lots of close-ups. Thanks Kat!
Michael at NBC telethon?
kal1974, Vartan Ho #3011, reports that there's word going around that NBC is trying to get
Michael to make an appearance at the NBC hurricane benefit concert tonight. This isn't set in stone,
but it would be a very nice thing of him to do if it did happen, and Michael has been sporting the Saints jersey lately.
Hurricane Katrina and donations
In light of the devastation that has hit the Gulf Coast this week, we'd like to suggest that if
you were planning on donating to our ad campaign for Michael but haven't had a chance to yet, you might
consider donating to the Red Cross Hurricane Relief Fund instead.
We have more than enough money now to purchase the ad, and also a nice amount above that to send to the
Cystic Fibrosis Foundation as planned, so we want to make sure that the relief efforts become foremost in
everyone's mind. There is an option to donate in honor of someone, so if you had earmarked some money for the
Michael campaign and wanted to donate in his name, that could be an option for you.
We also wanted to mention the situation many pet owners and animal-related organizations are
facing: you can read about the rescue efforts on this page and
find out about possibly providing a home for pets whose owners can't take care of them due to the
hurricane's damage. It's just a nightmarish situation all around, so if you can find any way at all
to help out, you would be doing something great.

Think pink
Well, it's the first of the month, and you know what that means:
the latest caption contest results.
This was an especially hard choice because there were so many really funny entries this month.
Congrats to Jen Gray, and everyone try your hand at this month's pic if you're so inclined.
Why are we looking forward to football season?
Because Michael will be participating in a season-long Fantasy Football league on the NFL Network, that's why.
You can check out all the details at the NFL's site, but the
gist is that Michael and nine other celebs (including the erstwhile Steve Urkel!) will be appearing weekly on
"NFL Total Access" to make their predictions and discuss their fantasy picks. Sounds like a lot of fun, and
hopefully we'll be able to make clips for people who don't get the NFL Network (cross your fingers).
Have a great day!

A good sport
More wonderful "Stars with Sticks" media to share with you! I'm glad most of you got to meet him upclose! Perri passed on a really cool photo from the post-game mingling, and Alicia provided a full gallery of game fun and staring-right-into-your-eyes Michael. Those shots are awesome! Thank you!
To make the experience even livelier, Alicia also passed on a video she took at the game! That's just neat! I would guard such things like gold if I ever had any in my possession. Hee.
More moving pictures
Stu McDougal, Chairman of "Freeze the Disease," sent thank yous and a heads-up to fans and supporters that the game DVDs are ready! On the DVD you can "see actors Vartan, Priestley, Kulich, Colantoni and others go head-to-head, skate-to-skate, with current and former NHL stars like Mathieu Schneider, George Parros, Jim Fox, Bobby Hull Jr., Ian Turnbull, and others."
"Paul Motenko delivering the moving speech about his daughter, Stacy, who has cystic fibrosis, and what it is like for the parents of children suffering from this dreadful disease; guests and players alike were deeply touched, and many were moved to tears (hockey players have tears too!)."
"Also see Scott Klein, CF survivor, playing in his second Freeze Pro/Celeb hockey game just two short years after his double lung transplant surgery!"
According to Stu, you can order the DVD through their Web site for a suggested donation of $25, or contact CFF-LaHabra office by telephone or US Mail. Here are the details:
Online (credit/bank card only)
Go to www.FreezeCF.org. This will take you directly to the online donation page. Press "Make a Donation" and follow the steps at PayPal.
Offline (check, money order, credit/bank card)
contact Ginney Gonzalez, CFF-LaHabra Office
153 East Whittier Blvd, Suite A
LaHabra, CA 90631
562-694-5457
I think that's a sweet idea! We're very hopeful that we have some extra to contribute to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation in Michael's name from the ad money we're raising. :) Have a good Wednesday!

Re-icing
We're going a little back in time with today's update. We have some new high-res pics of Michael from Freeze the Disease courtesy of Hannah. Thank you! We can never get enough of Michael playing hockey.
Take Michael home with you
Today is the release date for "Monster-in-Law"! I know I'll be buying one. Judging from the advertising circulars on Sunday, around here Kmart and Circuit City have the best prices.
That's it for today. Our thoughts are with those affected by Hurricane Katrina, and keep in mind that The Red Cross can use your donations to help out.

Farewell to Vaughn
The Boston Herald has posted some major, major scoop about when and how Vaughn is written out of "Alias." According to this, you won't have to tune in past the season premiere. For plot details (spoilers!), read the article.
Fun with Sticks
For some FUN news this Monday, we have more fan pic galleries from "Stars With Sticks" to shout out! Whee! These come hot the heels of Karen B.'s photos that we had added to yesterday's update, and are courtesy of metsmvfn and Chatty, respectively. So pretty and cool! You guys totally grabbed every moment in closeups!! Love it. Thank you so much!
For even more gorgeous eye candy, we've added ultra high-res pics from the same event that Hannah passed on to us. These are truly stunning. Hope that makes for a droolworthy Monday!
Donation Update
Donations for the MV ad have climbed to $3361, which means we're just a little over $100 away from getting the full-page, borderless version. Thanks for your amazing contributions, people!!
