Article craze
I can't fill you in on if Michael was at the men's final (probably not), but I can share some articles with you. The first is a great one from tomorrow's Herald Sun, that is totally Michael-centric. They interviewed him at the women's final.

The next two are just mentions of him attending the Open, but one puts him among the "big names" to show. Thanks to Rosemary for all three!

Then we have two interviews with "Rogue" director McLean, from Really Scary, and bloody-disgusting.com, courtesy of Girasol. They were conducted as part of his "Wolf Creek" promotion in December, but he addresses "Rogue," as well.

It's a love match
Karen sent us some more captures of MV at the Australian Open. These are from the Federer match from the other day. Have I mentioned before that he's a fine, fine-looking man? (Michael, I mean. Not that Federer is anything to sneeze at, himself!) Thanks again, Karen!

Speaking of the Australian Open, Vik from Melbourne, Vartan Ho #4034, let us know that Michael was at the women's final last night. He was shown on the Australian broadcast, and looked "delicious as ever wearing a dark blue shirt." It was a short match, as Henin-Hardenne got sick and had to retire, and Michael unfortunately wasn't shown on the ESPN2 coverage here in the U.S. In case he also attends the men's final, we wanted to let you know that it will be shown live on ESPN2 at 3:30 a.m. EST (yep, that's right, a.m.) on Sunday. It will be repeated Sunday at noon EST.

Caption pleas
OK, I'm just going to beg now. Please, please send us some captions for the January caption contest. Apparently, you people are just inspired by pictures that contain props. OK, so January's doesn't have a prop, but it does have a guy who looks like Matt LeBlanc's creepy cousin.

Enjoy your weekend!

In spite of the tennis
(Is it weird that many times when I think of tennis, I think of that one extremely random line from "Waiting for Godot?" Only an English major. A really, really nerdy English major.) Ahem, anyway--The Age had a little blurb about star-watching at the Australian Open, and Michael is singled out as excellent eye candy. It's a good thing I can relate to that, because I also had to use context clues (another English trick) to figure out almost every other reference in the article, seeing as how I don't live in Australia. Handy, those context clues.

Close encounters
Yee wrote to share this story, which has us all green with envy: "Hey I live in Melbourne and haven't been that up to date on MV for the past year...BUT today (24th Melbourne) I was shopping in Melbourne and about 11:30 he was sitting outside a cafe and having coffee talking on the telephone! and I didn't have a pen to get his signature so I ran to a shop to get one but by the time i got back he had gone!!! But then walking down the street he was sitting outside another coffee shop and THIS time I got his autograph. So he's definitely in Melbourne but I haven't seen him at the Open yet! He was really nice." Thanks Yee, you lucky wench.

"Is someone making soup?" I *heart* "The Office."

Spectator sports
Just in case you missed yesterday's breaking news, we have a page of screencaps of Michael watching a tennis match at the Australian Open. Thanks to Karen B for hooking us up!

Here's hoping for more good tennis and more of Michael enjoying it!

Update 2: Screencaps of MV at Australian Open
Many thanks to Karen B for sharing five screencaps with us from the two times MV was shown at the game!

Update: MV at Australian Open TV alert!
Word is that MV was spotted during coverage of the Roger Federer-Nikolay Davydenko quarter-final match at the Australian Open. They show him during the 4-3 break in the first set, and it's very quick. According to H at VHoChat it lasts about 10 seconds, and "the announcers introduce him as Michael Vartan who used to be on Alias and then start talking about Charlize Theron." ESPN2 will have coverage of the Australian Open Men's & Women's Quarterfinals this afternoon from 2:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. ET. I don't think anybody of us will be able to get this, so if you spot Michael and are able to make some caps, we'd be eternally grateful! Good luck!

Scared of the Outback
We've added a great article about "Rogue" from Fangoria. It's pretty detailed and includes lots of new quotes from director Greg McLean. He discusses the real horrors of shooting in croc-infested waters at night, what attracted MV to the project and how his shoots have been going, and that they're focused on making the creature look as realistic as possible. Sounds promising! Considering how freaked out I am just reading about it, the movie will be a nailbiter! Thanks to Judith for the link!

Yay, finally a new "Veronica Mars" tonight (with probably intense thrills of its own)! Oh, Logan, how have we missed you! Please don't go away again (even if your network is).

A present with bite?
Accoring to FilmJerk, "Rogue" will be released on Christmas Day. That's about the third different timeframe we've seen for its release, and we don't know if that's U.S. or Australian release, so take it with a grain of salt until there's an official announcement. But the earlier, the better, as far as we're concerned. Thanks to redhat at Vartanopia for the heads-up.

Bunny Fight
Michael was shown VERY briefly in an episode of "The Girls Next Door," the E! series about Playboy Bunnies. (There's a reality show for pretty much everything, isn't there?) He was at the Playboy Mansion's "Fight Night" event. Lugia managed to get a few screencaps.

Happy Tuesday!

Everybody's got an annoying filthy Frenchman in them
Especially if you take to our new beverage! Courtesy of bartender genius Souris, we present: the "Annoying Filthy Frenchman." Inspired by Michael's episode of "Kitchen Confidential," of course. Happy Hour to you!!

Good with the ladies
This sort of ties in with the above. Hee! The December '05 issue of Playboy released some photos from the Midsummer Night's Dream party at the Playboy Mansion in August. We've added a scan of Michael in his PJs with Playmate Carmella DeCesare.

I wonder what Kiefer will be wearing tonight since he's already redressed a couple of times. My prediction? Hot!
