Pete, the travel writer
We've got an awesome loot of new MV pics for you! The first nice-quality promo pics for "Rogue" have been released. How freaking hot does he look there? Thanks to SouthernGal, VHo #770, and Judith for the heads-up!
Homebound
Congrats to the "Rogue" cast and crew for wrapping production on Friday! The Sunday Herald Sun has a little article about that today. There's a very sexy pic of Michael at Boutique night club. Looks like he got to celebrate twice. Rightly so! He'll be back in the States tomorrow. Thanks to Girasol for the picture, and Kimberly and Vik, VHo #4034, for the link!

Casting directors take note of Michael
In case you missed our late update yesterday, make sure you check out the Wall Street Journal article featuring Michael as the face of hot leading men who can act. Seriously, how much does that article rock? It made my day. It's great to see that Michael is being recognized for his acting skills as well as his obvious physical appeal. Let's keep our fingers crossed that in all those offers he's getting, there's something fantastic that will lure him back to our TV screens every week and will be a big hit.
Sigh. Seventy degrees yesterday, possible freezing rain and snow today.

LATE UPDATE: Michael in the Wall Street Journal!
Michael appears on the front page of the Wall Street Weekend Journal in an article and
photograph about how casting directors are desperately courting hot, rugged men who can act.
You can read this promising article here.
Thanks to Candie for the alert and Bonnie for the scans, and no thanks to me for being unable to produce
anything but that gross second thumbnail. The larger pic is much nicer, and hey...we don't really
care all that much about Dominic Purcell's thumbnail, do we? Michael's is the one that
counts. Great press--let's hope Michael has his pick of the pilots and we can keep seeing him
every week after all. Have a nice weekend!

Crickets
Nothing going on in Michael-land today. Presumably, the end of filming on
"Rogue" is tomorrow, so maybe there'll be some wrap party pictures? Is that something
that happens? Anyway, enjoy the Olympics--I'm sure Michael will be glued to the hockey
whenever that gets coverage.

What's he thinking?
We could use some more captions for the February pic. You don't wanna make winning easy for the Hos that have already sent one, do you?
How psyched am I that Souris mentioned Joey Cheek yesterday! Whee! He was so nervous before the sprint, but totally delivered. Athletes rock!

Radio clarification
Joanna, Vartan Ho #4075, wrote back to clarify about yesterday's item about Michael possibly appearing in future on "Born in the USA" on Aussie radio's SEN 1116. She said that there was a lot of background noise, so the radio guy could have said that Michael will be a correspondent for the NHL instead of the NFL. I had been thinking that that would make more sense, since the NFL season is over until August and hockey is Michael's favorite sport. Keep in mind, we don't know how firm this whole thing is or how often he might be appearing.
Out and about Down Under
The Herald Sun continues its coverage of Michael with a blurb about him watching that weekend cricket match and an unfortunately gossipy one about how he's been keeping busy when not at work. Glad to see he's been having fun. Thanks to Kimberly and Judith, respectively, for those articles!
A day for romance
To go along with Valentine's Day today, we have a couple of romantic things to share with you. First up is a shippy Vaughn/Sydney music video by sydsbiggestfan. It's extremely well-done!
Then there's an article from the Palm Beach Post picking the "most awesome movie kisses of all time," and Michael's lips make an appearance on the list. I think you can probably guess from which movie!
Congrats to Joey Cheek, our local Olympic gold medalist! And kudos to him for donating his $25,000 winnings to the charity Right to Play, which uses sports to help enhance the development of underprivileged children in areas affected by war and disease.

Career opportunities
Looks like Michael has won some hearts in Australia. Joanna, Vartan Ho #4075, called the radio station that produces "Born in the USA," SEN 1116, and "the radio guy told [her] that Michael Vartan is going to be the USA correspondent for the NFL section." That would be incredibly awesome, of course! Go, Michael!
Hottie McHot
Angie K has scanned a very cute picture of Michael posing with a big tennis ball at the Australian Open. It appears in New Idea, and there's a little blurb attached. Is he adorable, or what?!
Cricket is a sport, too
Since this seems to be the day for good news (yay!), I'm happy to post that Michael was at a celebrity cricket match in Melbourne yesterday, and there are a lot of new pics at WireImage. Excuse me, while I'm drooling.
I don't think I'll even need my Jack fix now. But I'll watch anyway.
