Mike's bike
If you missed out on the Vaughn costumes that were up for auction (and based on the prices they went for, I'm sure that's most of us!), now you have another shot at a Michael item: a signed bicycle that he used on set (scroll down to item No. 94). The auction is to benefit Project Angel Food. It will be held live in Los Angeles, but they will also be accepting live bids on the Internet. You can read more about it here. Good luck! And, hey, if you can't get Michael's bike and really need some wheels, you can always bid on the Flintstones-mobile (?!) instead.

Blue Suede Vaughn
Ever wanted to wear Michael around all day? (There's really no subtle way to say that, is there?)
Well, thanks to the folks at Glarkware (run
by the same folks who bring you Television Without Pity), now you can! One of their June Now or Never shirts
is an Elvis-inspired Vaughn comeback tee. The description is too funny. If you want one, you have until
the end of the month to snap it up. I always knew Vaughn was the stuff of legend.
Taking care of bidness
There's a great deal of unintentional synergy to today's update, because this item concerns the
results of some eBay auctions for pieces of Michael's "Alias" wardrobe, for those of us who prefer to
actually wear Michael's clothes. Granted, this costs quite a bit more, but it does have a bit more
cachet. I know we all remember the cut-off sleeveless shirt worn by angry boxing Vaughn, and
now someone has paid $1,325 for it.
His Army disguise fetched almost twice that.
Congrats to the winners! The proceeds go to the Children's Defense Fund. Thanks to Judith for the heads-up!
You may have noticed that we have changed our red donation link above once again. We wanted to call
attention to Save the Children's efforts to raise money
to help the victims of the recent earthquake in Indonesia. As always, even if you can't actually donate, their site
is an excellent resource about issues around the world. And the next time you're buying stamps, you
can choose from several kids' designs and know
the money is going to benefit kids around the world.

Thinking inside the box
It's June 1, and we all know what that means--caption contest results! Congratulations to
Katie, this month's winner! We had some really funny and original entries this time. Check them out
on the caption page.
While you're there, try your hand at some network switcheroo-related snark in the June contest.
One Hour late
Pixie, Vartan Ho #3911, sent us this scan of
a "One Hour Photo" review from Britain's Radio Times. Yes, it's a current review. Nice
to see Michael's movies are the gifts that keep on giving!
The bookish sort
Judith sent in an article
about a famous and proud Vartan devotee who uses Michael as the inspiration for some of her
romance novels. And ya know what? She's one of us!
We always love a good Ho success story. :) If you need some good beach reading this summer,
why not check out the book she says was inspired by Vaughn?
Congrats to Carly on all her success!
Can we just make up a holiday to make this weekend longer? I don't think I enjoyed the
last one enough.

It's in the coffee
There's a new MV lifesign in the form of new pics out there. There are a couple small shots of him getting coffee at Clasos. Thanks to bvec43 for the heads-up. Looks like he's leading a pretty normal, relaxed life right now (good for him!). Please note that the beach pics on the same page have been mislabeled and that's not MV with the dogs.
High intensity movie
Pixie, Vartan Ho #3911, asked us to pass on to all UK readers that "One Hour Photo" will be shown on terrestrial TV for the first time. Mark your calendars for Saturday, June 3 at 10.10 p.m. The movie will air on Channel 4 directly after "Big Brother," which gets huge ratings there and sounds like an awesome lead-in. Also thanks to Emmy for the alert! According to Pixie, The Radio Times, a major TV and radio listings magazine in the UK, has named "One Hour Photo" their "Film of the Week." I tend to forget about it sometimes, so that's a fun reminder of how good it actually is!
Enjoy the last day of May!

Out and about with Michael
People.com had a brief (and happily benign as gossip items go) mention of a Michael sighting in its Insider column: "Michael Vartan, drinking cocktails with two male friends in the outside bar at Hollywood's Cabana Club. Though women swarmed around the Alias actor, our source says he didn't pay much attention to his admirers." Thanks to Judith for sending that in!
Urgh, I hate going back to work after a three-day weekend. Though I guess it's better than going back to work after a two-day weekend. I could've really used a five-day weekend!

Sexy Thunder
Souris has done a wonderful collage for the June calendar page. I'm very partial to that photoshoot, so one more reason to love my birthday month! This month has actually been very thunderous and rainy. But that made me dream, literally, about MV in bad weather conditions, so I really can't complain.
Unique captions
We're still looking for entries in our current caption contest! Very different pic this time, so get crazy with it (more than usual). There's only a short time left! Thanks!
Memorial Day
Today we observe Memorial Day, which is traditionally on the last Monday of May. As a day of remembrance in the United States for those who have died in the nation's service, we'd like to do our part and link to this very informative and moving Web site: USMemorialDay.org. You can find a lot of thoughts and photos and history and poems on it, and we can only recommend taking a few minutes to browse it. It's only right we remember those we owe so much to!
