In demand for Derby
Today's Herald Sun has a Michael mention that's just gotta make you smile. Apparently the Melbourne Cup participants all had high hopes for securing Michael for their marquee, but he chose to be an exclusive guest of the Emirates marquee. He'll be there on both Derby Day (Nov. 4) and Cup Day (Nov. 7), according to the paper. Guess the Hos are not the only ones willing to fight over him!! ;) Thanks to a bunch of people for sending this in, including SouthernGal, VHo #770, Moesha, Vikki, and Maryann at VHoChat.
Enjoy your Sunday afternoon!

Aunt goes marching
No news about "Jolene" today, but Helene sent us this cool piece on
Michael's aunt Sylvie earning the rank of Officer in the French National Order of Merit. She sounds
like a very accomplished lady--congratulations to her!
Enjoy your Thursday and its crazy temperature drop!

All for "Jolene"
We've thrown together some pages for "Jolene": an articles archive where you can find the latest releases, including a mention on E! Online's "The Dotted Line" (thanks to Tanya!), and a spoilers page where we'll try to compile all the facts that are available to us. I just like having everything in one place because I tend to forget what we know -- which is not much at this point. But yay for a new project!!
"Alias" for cheap
texasalias went shopping and compared the prices that the complete "Alias" series DVD collection goes for online.
barnesandnoble.com, members price $152.99, non-members price $169.00

walmart.com $139.87
bestbuy.com $219.99
suncoast.com $199.99

I remember when one season of "The X-Files" cost that much, so I'm glad the times have changed. Thanks for the info, texasalias!
TV week is exhausting. But I'm absolutely curious what the new "Battlestar Galactica" will bring!

It's official!
"Jolene" had to hit it big when everyone was on vacation, didn't it?? Nice news to come back to, though. It's been confirmed via The Hollywood Reporter that Michael has joined the cast of "Jolene." It's an indie film based on a story by E.L. Doctorow and will be directed by Dan Ireland. Michael's role is being described as "a rich fundamentalist from Texas who marries Jolene." Other big names that have been added to the cast include Donald Sutherland and Denise Richards. Thanks to Maryann and Moesha, VHo #1155, for the news!!
Michael's involvement specifically also made the front page of Zap2it. I so enjoy an article focusing on him and making it the big news that he's joining the project. This article also includes some clearer spoilers. Thanks to Musicat for the heads-up!
Hot Arizona
There's another new article about the location "Jolene" will be filming in, Prescott, Arizona. The production company is Next Turn Productions for anyone still having doubts this movie is being made. Shooting will begin this October. Thanks to AG for the link! We'll be archiving these articles on-site shortly.
And I thought all the TV I missed last week was bad enough. Hee!
