Reassuring "Rogue" news
Jodi sent a couple of interesting questions to Clint at Moviehole.net and he let Greg McLean himself answer them.
Q. Hi Clint, I was wondering if you can shed any light on the news that 'Rogue' will only get a very limited release in the U.S. on Apr. 20th. I'm a big fan of Michael Vartan, and I live in the New Orleans area. If Rogue will be released to only 500 theatres, I doubt if it would come here. We're probably not a big enough market any more. There hasn't been a trailer or even a poster to be seen. Have the Weinstein's lost interest in this movie? What does Greg McLean think of this? Any information you could provide would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much! - Jodi
A. Here's Greg McLean to answer your question: "2350 screens across USA on April 20th. I don't think this is limited release and hope Jodi enjoys the picture! Trailers and poster should be around in next few weeks - so look out for these!"
I'm excited!!

Nice job on the reptile pun
Here's an interesting article about
Rogue vs. another lower-budget crocodile movie being filmed at the same time. Seems like a lot of
reptile movies glutting the market lately! I hope Michael picked the best one. :)
Ah, February. When a 40-degree day feels like tropical bliss.

"Rogue" rating confirmed
Girasol sent us over to the Motion Picture Association of America ("MPAA"), which confirms the "R" rating for "Rogue." Here's some more info from them:
"The movie ratings system is a voluntary system operated by the MPAA and the National Association of Theater Owners (NATO). The ratings are given by a board of parents who comprise the Classification and Rating Administration (CARA). CARA's Board members view each film and, after a group discussion, vote on its rating. The ratings are intended to provide parents with advance information so they can decide for themselves which films are appropriate for viewing by their own children. The Board uses the same criteria as any parent making a judgment: theme, language, violence, nudity, sex and drug use are among content areas considered in the decision-making process."
"R - Restricted, Under 17 Requires Accompanying Parent or Adult Guardian: In the opinion of the Rating Board, this film definitely contains some adult material. Parents are strongly urged to find out more about this film before they allow their children to accompany them. An R-rated film may include strong language, violence, nudity, drug abuse, other elements, or a combination of the above, so parents are counseled in advance to take this advisory rating very seriously."
"Rogue" was given the "R" rating for language and some creature violence.
That was possibly everything there ever was to know about "R" ratings. Have a good day anyway!
