"Rogue" premiere coverage
Our update is twofold today: Michael attended the Melbourne premiere of "Rogue" on Friday and the Derby Day of Spring Racing Carnival on Saturday, so there's a lot to cover. Remember he's on Australian time right now so it adds up before we know it!
First up is the most interesting thing, pics. You can access "Rogue" premiere photos at WireImage and bigger ones at this blog. Thanks to Maryann at VHoChat for the link! gracie-lou at Vartanopia found a fan video taken at the event on YouTube.
Derby Day coverage
Now we come to the bigger, bolder Cup coverage. I remember last year's like it was yesterday! Again, most important for this Ho is what Michael was wearing. We've added some high-res pics and some smaller to our gallery. Thanks to mitchum at Vartanopia for the top row. I guess you can't escape Melissa George at these events. Getty Images has a few additional ones.
Then gracie-lou at Vartanopia found some media and captured an audio clip of MV commenting on the celebrations on the Melbourne News Bulletin.
A trip to Australia wouldn't be the same without the massive amount of articles that always come out! Here's one from the Sunday Herald Sun, which reveals a nickname Michael got on the set of "Rogue" and that he went to Australia at the last minute because the "Big Shots" monkeys wouldn't give him the time off! I'm so glad this wasn't a repeat of the "Monster-in-Law" premiere, which he couldn't attend because of "Alias." SouthernGal at Vartanopia shared an article from The Age, that uses Michael's quote on Australia as inspiration for the title. And Claudia at Vartanopia has one from The Daily Telegraph with a huge MV focus!
I bow to everyone's Google-Fu, and I'm sure that's not the last we've heard from Down Under!

Fun times Down Under
Michael made it to Australia and appeared on the Hamish and Andy radio show, along with another unexpected guest. Happily for us, mitchum captured it and uploaded it at MegaUpload. In case you haven't used MegaUpload before, you enter the code given into the box, wait through the 45-second download countdown, then click on "Free Download," and the .wma file will download. It's hysterical!

Sides for ep 11 of "Big Shots"
We've added casting sides for episode 11. Standard spoiler warnings apply. They might not be in the correct order. Let's hope the writers won't strike Monday and we'll get more of these!
Better late than never
Because ABC is weird that way, they added two new promo pictures for Thursday's episode after it aired. They used to do that with "Alias" sometimes. I didn't understand the thinking behind it then, and I still don't.
Ratings report
According to Zap2it: "Without a Trace" dominated the 10 p.m. hour for CBS with a 9.8/16. The final minutes of an extended "Grey's" and "Big Shots" averaged 6.2/10 for ABC. NBC's "ER," 5.9/10, was third in households but had a few more total viewers than ABC.
I'm so happy it's the weekend!

Attention: Changes to Michael's schedule
According to simone at Vartanopia, Michael "was able to go to Australia at the last minute." So look for pics and articles from Down Under! This most probably means he won't be able to attend the Freeze the Disease hockey game or the poker tournament with the "Big Shots" cast. Someone involved with the Freeze the Disease Foundation apparently confirmed it at Vartanopia. Still a worthwhile event to be at!
New "Rogue" article
There's a "Rogue" article in the Sydney Morning Herald with a really lovely new pic of Michael. It's opening in Australia in a week! Thanks to SouthernGal for the link!

Even before the busy weekend! Michael attended the release party of Rich Eisen's book, "Total Access," and looked really fashionable! Rich Eisen is the host of NFL Network's "NFL Total Access," which Michael appeared on in the past.

Yahoo! Television has the latest sneak peeks for tomorrow's "Big Shots." Michael is in one briefly, playing pool.

Enjoy the scenery!
Dude, now this is really cool! mitchum sent us video clips of "The Making of Rogue," which aired on Australian TV over the weekend! You get loads of new excerpts from the movie, behind-the-scenes footage and interviews with the cast and crew, including Michael. I totally dig specials like this and we're lucky to get one for "Rogue" considering it's not a huge American movie and not even scheduled to be shown in the States anytime soon! So this made my day. Thank you so much, mitchum!
Michael and his clones
The Bet Tzedek legal services are hosting a charity poker tournament on Nov. 4, and apparently Michael will be part of it. Considering his already way too busy weekend, I think all bets are off as to which appointments he's actually going to make! My guess would be just the US ones. The Texas Hold'em tournament will take place in Hollywood Park Casino at noon, and Christopher and Joshua will be players, too. You can buy tickets via the MySpace page. Bet Tzedek provides legal advice and representation for low income seniors in Los Angeles, focusing on prevention of elder abuse. Thanks to SouthernGal at Vartanopia!
"Jolene" readies for February
According to the IMDb, Michael's independent movie "Jolene" will be released in the USA in February 2008. You can take a look at a few production stills with Michael at Jefry Shebroe's Web site. Furthermore, azcentral.com posts that "Riva Yares, executive producer of 'Jolene,' said her production used locations in Cave Creek, Prescott and Scottsdale. Yares hopes to show the film at the Sundance Film Festival in January." Is this turning into another "Rogue" with all the postponements? More reason to appreciate "Big Shots"! Since October is drawing to a close, that doesn't only mean that Halloween is here, but also the deadline of our caption contest! Maybe getting creative with your costumes inspires you to send in a final caption or two.
KTLA recap
Word is that Michael did appear on KTLA this morning, on a segment they taped when he was last there, but apparently it didn't go very well as "they had something on speed dating and set up an account for him and he kept asking 'is this real?' They showed a woman online and he said he wasn't into it." Sounds like they were off their rocker! Thanks to dramaqueen at Vartanopia for the heads-up!
