"Jolene" at Seattle International Film Festival
Looks like "Jolene" will premiere in Seattle on Friday, June 13 at 9:30 pm and
Saturday, June 14 at 2:30 pm. You can check out the Friday calendar here and
the Saturday calendar here. If you're
a Seattle-area Ho looking to score some tickets, here's the information.
And the movie's SIFF page is here. Still no word on
whether Michael will be participating in any of the screenings, but let's cross our fingers!
More Cannes info
"Jolene" is not listed in the official lineup of the Cannes film
festival but is one of the films listed in the Cannes Film Market under
Intandem Films. The Cannes Market or Marche du Film is one of the
sidebar events in the Cannes film festival and runs from May 14-23. It
is sort of a trade show where distributors screen their films to the

Update on "Jolene" premiere
Word is now that "Jolene" will premiere at Cannes (May 15-26). According to Variety, Intandem Films, a UK-based sales and production company, has picked up the worldwide rights to the movie. "Following a private screening of 'Jolene' [they] were astounded by the quality of the film and its potential as a very commercial indie title in the market."
I couldn't find it on the Cannes schedule yet, and the movie will supposedly run at the Seattle International Film Festival a short time later, so stay tuned for final announcements! Thanks to SouthernGal and Maryann for the heads-up! Michael at Cannes... a girl can dream!

Look! Young floppy-haired Michael!
SouthernGal, Vartan Ho #770, has come up with perhaps the find of the year: a lengthy video interview with Michael back when he had just done "Fiorile." What a treat! I got a punny kick out of his joking answer when he was asked where he saw himself in 10 years: working at Vons (a grocery-store chain). And, in actuality, he was working as Vaughn about 10 years later, LOL. Well, I found it amusing.
Look! A date for Jolene!
According to Variety, Jolene will have its premiere at the Seattle International Film Festival. The Festival will run from May 22 to June 15; the full Festival schedule won't be released until Thursday, according to the SIFF Web site, so there's not yet an exact date for Jolene. Tickets will go on sale to the general public on May 11 -- we hope some Seattle Hos will be able to attend and give us the full report on Michael's very-different-for-him role. No word yet on whether Michael will attend any of the Festival events. Thanks to smjf at Vartanopia for the heads-up!
