The time there was no hockey
It's never fun to be the bearer of bad news, but Michael has apparently had to cancel his participation in this summer's Freeze the Disease hockey game. Thanks to boyscout11 for the heads-up! Supporting a cause that Michael has been involved with for years is still cool, though, so if you want tickets, they're available through FreezeTheDisease.org!

More pre-ESPY stuff
You can check out videos with brief snippets of an interview (I say interview because it's basically the same in both videos!) with Michael at the pre-ESPY party here and here. Thanks to SouthernGal at Vartanopia for the links!
There are also five short videos of Michael at the video section on WireImage. It seems you have to be a subscriber to see them (or else my browser is being stubborn), but if any of you Hos happen to be one, enjoy! Here's a description of them from Carolyn, Vartan Ho #504:
"He is rather adorable in the longer interview one. It starts as he is asked if he has been to the mansion before. His answer is yes, several times before. Then adds that he is there tonight to meet and talk with athletes and that the mystique of the mansion in hollywood is not what attracts him there anymore as due to him getting older. Then he is asked if he is a Playstation fan or Blu-ray fan. He answers with a smile and says he has calluses on his thumbs from playing too much and needs to get out of the house every once in a while.
The other short videos are indeed just that - super short a few of them. The second longest is of him facing the cameras on the carpet being asked to turn here and there for the photographers. One photographer asks about his dog and he says Millie and laughs."

Michael appearance!!
We got very lucky and got pics of the pre-ESPY awards party. Michael looks great in that fashionable, crinkled new shirt. We've added a few, mostly high-res but watermarked photos of the event here.

Athletes + Bunnies = Michael appearance?
According to a USA Today blog, "Jerry O'Connell, Michael Vartan and a parade of sports stars are expected at the Playboy Mansion in L.A. for a kick-off party in advance of Wednesday's ESPY award show." This event was last night, so fingers crossed that: a) Michael was actually there, and b) some pictures will show up on the wires. Thanks to new fan at Vartanopia for the heads-up!

Better late than never (blame me...my computer's been in the hospital the last few weeks), we
have the results of June's caption contest, which you can check out

mission for July is to tell us why Michael looks so bored/miserable. I'm pretty
