Setting: Sydney begins a voice over while we see her being applauded by her fellow SD-6 employees for her efforts in defeating Cole.
Sydney: It made me sick. Those people standing there, patriots, believing they work for the U.S. Government, none of them realizing the information they gather is used by heartless men like Arvin Sloane for an oranization that would trade their lives for a profit in a heartbeat.

Setting: Vaughn and Sydney are meeting on an empty train.
Sydney: I just wanted to rip his finger right off again. Does that make me a bad person?
Vaughn: [chuckles] No. But it might have blown your cover.
Sydney: You think?
Vaughn: You'll tag Doughlin in Vegas. When SD-6 gets more specifics about the meeting, we'll figure out what our next move is.
Sydney: Hey, did that guy from your office end up reporting you?
Vaughn: Haladki? Yeah, he did. But Devlin only slapped me on the wrist, even though going into SD-6 without clearance wasn't exactly constitutional. I was kind of hoping Haladki would get nailed for snitching, but I guess we kind of broke even on this one.
[Sydney starts rubbing her left jaw.]
Vaughn: Are you okay?
Sydney: Its nothing, I'm just a little bruised.
Vaughn: Oh. [Vaughn looks closer at Syd's face.] I can't really tell.
Sydney: That's because I'm wearing like a pound of cover-up.
[Vaughn chuckles and then looks thoughtfully at Syd.]

Setting: Jack has just told Syd that she and Dixon are to go to Russia to surveil the meeting between K-Directorate and The Man's pointman, Sark. We next see Vaughn and Syd meeting at an observatory. They are standing against the rails on the deck.
Vaughn: [hands something to Syd] This is a flash memory card. Its compatible with the fibre optic camera you'll be using during the K-Directorate meeting. On the flight home, just leave it on the plane. Seat pocket 15-C. One of our agents will pick it up.
Sydney: 15-C?
Vaughn: Yeah. [takes deep breath] Last week when you talked about quitting SD-6--
Sydney: I was being naive.
Vaughn: No, but, um, what you said about wanting to go to a hockey game. Wanting me to be a part of your life. I, uh, I think I wasn't clear about something. That it would be nice, to be in public with you. To actually get to look at you. Grab a pizza or go to a hockey game. I just, I wasn't clear that I would really like that too. [Brief silence.] Good luck in Russia.
[Vaughn leaves. Syd watches him as he walks away.]
